Hi, Otto here for Bavarian Autosport. Let's look at the procedure for removing and installing
the front grill on most BMW models that have the grill installed in the hood.
Here we are using a 2001, 330Ci, E46 model. The grills are secured with six clips, around
the perimeter around the inside of the hood. We will use our non-marring pry tool to release
the securing clips. Note the plastic grip on the grill and the metal tab on the hood.
Insert the tool between the metal tab and the plastic clip. To start the removal, insert
the tool at one of the lower clips. While releasing the clip with the tool push outward
with the grill so the clip will not slip back into place as you continue to the next one.
Go to the other lower clip and then to one of the side clips. Finish with the other side
clip and the grill will pop out. Install the new grill by simply positioning
it into the opening and pressing it firmly into place so that all of the snaps are seated.
On the driver's side grill, note the position of the hood lift lever.
