Good morning.
It's monday.
I have no further comments at this time.
It's 6 o'clock in the morning right now, and we're gonna play futsal for about an hour.
Good morning, life for me at BJU begins with an early morning basketball,
hanging out with the guys, having a great time and then leaving my house.
I live back campus.
See ya, Judah. Hey Judah, can you say goodbye to everybody?
Bye.
All right. Leaving back campus, and heading to class.
This is our campus
We enjoy this kind of architecture which is pretty modern.
I like it.
Hi there, everyone!
My name is Ben. I'm a town student.
And here's my morning commute.
I got five classes today,
Essential Science at eight.
Here we go.
Class numero uno, Science building.
Whenever I'm turning into Bob Jones, I guess I have a little bit of pride.
It's a little bit of Bruin pride and a little bit of, you know, just academic excellence pride.
I know especially for education majors,
I've heard all excellent things from teachers that I meet at work—
I work at Publix—and they come in and you know and they'll ask me where I go to school
and when I say Bob Jones you know they're like, "Oh! They teach ya'll very, very well."
Ya'll have a great day.
First class of the day is Computer Network Fundamentals
which meets in the computer science labs in the library.
Fly lab, 8:15 a.m.
There's Emily, isolating the flies.
I am now headed to New Testament.
All right, one hour down, a lot more to go.
One thing that's great about campus, all the buildings are pretty close together.
So, I had a nice thirty second walk from my first hour class right over to my second hour class.
This is backstage Rodeheaver.
You might notice that my hair is a little bit long.
That's because I'm in Living Gallery I'm also in the Artist Series that's later on, Macbeth .
Love teaching here.
Many people ask me which class is my favorite
and honestly my response is the one I'm currently teaching.
So today, 9 o'clock, my favorite class is Youth Work.
This is one thing that is great about Bob Jones.
'Cause you have your lecture courses which have like hundreds of people,
but you also have small classes like this.
There's six of us in here, which means we have a lot better discussion time, and—
our teacher can justify doing this.
And it's good, too.
Which is awesome!
'Cause she's a great cook and an even better teacher.
It's 10:53, on my way to chapel.
We have been assigned new chapel seats today.
Not a bad view.
God is the great narrator.
Every thing that happens in your life is part of God's beautiful story for your life.
This is my first year at Bob Jones.
I enjoy it.
Um, I enjoy the classes and the people. I have a great roommate. I have some great friends,
and my professors are incredible. Um, I enjoy their company.
My teachers are my friends and they want to see me grow.
Mr. Deambrosi,
Oh, you're filming!
we meant to ask you, how does hyperbole apply to your life?
It's the best life ever.
[Laughter]
It's 11:55—on my way to, uh, what class am I taking?
First Responder.
Oh, yeah, First Responder.
I am now going to open the airway with this up his nose.
The organization becomes the parent figure.
Biology's pretty tough here and you've got to put the work in to get a good grade,
so, that's what I'm doing.
We are currently extracting a yeast suspension into this microcentrifuge tube.
Can we warm up both tubes at the same time? Well it's liquid, so . . .
Here we are at the Dining Common going to get lunch. Ah, yum, bacon tomato vegetable.
That looks pretty good.
I'm just making a video of Ben eating 'cause it's so beautiful.
Snack Shop time!
Hey!
Hey!
Just eating lunch in the Snack Shop.
Well, I just got out of Biology and, uh, the studying paid off. I got eleven out of twelve,
so I got an A on the quiz.
We're just hanging out shooting the breeze for a few minutes
before we have to go to our one o'clock classes, and—
It's 12:49— [Bell rings] Oh, there's the bell.
Guten Tag! Dies ist deutsche Klasse. Good day! This is German Class.
Hallo! Hello!
Hallo! Hello!
Uh, wie geht's Ihnen? Uh, How are you?
Es geht mir gut, danke, und Ihnen? I am fine, thanks, and you?
Ich bin gut. I am good.
Du bist gut, aber dein Deutsch ist nicht gut. You are good, but your German is not good.
[Laughter]
You're all doing the in class project here,
looking at the Bible for yourself.
One of the famous fun experiments in physics is with the Van de Graaff generator.
They've got one running next door in the Physics lab. Let's go take a look.
[Laughter]
Ow!
Ow!
[Laughter]
These nine factors of attention, remember— your job as a speaker, especially
This is a great class.
especially as an informative speaker is to be as intentionally interesting as possible.
All right see ya.
All right.
Love ya, do well.
Why do you go to Bob Jones?
'Cause I love art and we have a great program.
What makes us great is our teachers. They teach us to think outside the box.
They teach us to expand our horizons, to learn from everything around us.
I'm Isaac Greene and I'm a senior church music major and I just auditioned
for a master's program at the Peabody Conservatory.
The bell already rang. We're passing in quizzes for music history.
There's Dr. Wilson.
So what are we learning about?
Um, about unusual public concerts.
We're just working on a project that's due Monday, and uh, collaborating,
as all good design students do.
And I'm way ahead right? Right?
Absolutely! Absolutely. My star pupil.
Even that starts to give more contrast if you go with a really deep red,
that's almost a black red.
Because of a relationship with Christ, I do have meaning in my life and you,
if you know the Lord, have meaning in what you do.
Well, I made it to the last class of the day, Themes.
Let's see if I can make it through the last hour.
Here we go!
So some interesting things to think about there as you contemplate the problem of evil.
I'm writing a paper for English 102. Um, it's a big paper, probably one of the bigger ones
I've ever written, but um, I think it'll go well.
Right now I'm headed to work.
This is one of my coworkers.
Right now, Amy is setting it on the orchestra. We're setting up for Requiem.
♪ solvet saeclum in favilla ♪
It's five o'clock.
I'm about to go pump some iron. Get my workout in for the week.
So, here we go!
We're going to play one on one and then. . .
We got a road game at Southern Wesleyan today, about a forty-five minute trip,
so we got everyone on the bus gearing up to go.
On the bus. . .
We're about to play some soccer.
Yes, we're playing soccer.
This is the Owls and we're stretching.
We're playing well together.
There's room for improvement, but I think we could win this game.
One, two, three, hoot baby!
Wooohh!
Yeah, Nikki!
[Laughter]
This is a boring video.
Let's go practice piano, Christi.
Okay, what are you practicing right now.
I'm practicing Mozart's Fantasy in C minor, K. 475.
Play some!
Okay, this is a slow section of it.
That's okay.
So, here it goes.
Well, we're leaving campus. It's been a long day, but it's been a good day.
Got a lot of work done. Had a lot of fun.
Wouldn't want to be at school anywhere else.
So what are you guys doing?
Theory homework.
Theory homework. Music theory?
I'm on Spark Notes.
Um.
Ahhh!
Yeah, this is dorm life.
All right, Hector and I are gonna' go for a walk down the hall.
Say hi, guys.
See, we've got a little bit of everybody here.
We've got, uh, public safety. . .
Public safety's most wanted, here.
And Josiah down there, hey!
These are the guys on our hall.
Thank you for the good preaching this week.
And I pray that you would just help us really to be faithful.
And the verse is Psalm 16:11.
It's just really good to be reminded that God gives us joy with His presence.
This is my favorite part of the night
when, uh, I brush my teeth and go to bed.
It's after prayer group.
When most of campus shuts down, there are those who are still up working
to help keep it running smoothly.
My name's Andrew Smith and I clean the bathroom in Smith.
This is my night job. I do it every night from eleven to twelve.
Making money.
Andrew Smith continues to clean
in his natural habitat.
Yep.
There are a lot of things that I enjoy about just living here.
Um, every day you hear the Bible somehow, through someone—
through your friend or through a chapel or through a, um, church service,
and through a class.
Um, every day you, um . . . you're. . . .
Probably within ten feet of you, you could talk to someone about their relationship
with Christ and be edified together.
I find that incredible.
And it's one of the greatest things about being here for me.
I love you mom and dad, Ryan, Carl, Justin. You guys are awesome, and with that,
have a good night.
From second floor west of Ironside. Good night.
Thank you for stopping by.
