Statim is an offset printer specialized in food packaging. We also print labels, and cartonboard packaging. Our customers are exclusively major companies in the food industry. We are an Esko customer since 2005, that is when the company was founded. For a number of years we are experiencing in our business a strong price pressure and a reduction in average print run. In this context, we must therefore increase our average print run and reduce the number of daily change-overs. A CONVINCING SOLUTION The Equinox solution entirely meets this requirement as it enables us to print all spot colors with seven inks. The benefits we gain with the Equinox solution are reduction in costs and an increase in production. Thanks to the Equinox solution, we are able to print up to 80% of all spot colors with no significant loss in quality. MOTIVATED CUSTOMERS Our customers are very satisfied, they hardly see any difference in quality compared to our old printing method. Today, after working with Equinox for six months, 30% of our production is handled through the Equinox workflow. The goal is, by the end of this year, to bring this to 80% of our production. The choice for Equinox was made together with our customer d'aucy, one of the leading food producers in France. It was very important that the choice of working with Equinox was approved by this customer. d'aucy has more than 5000 print references in its database. Each of these references are made up of one or more spot colors. By allowing us to print all spot colors with the same seven colors, Equinox enables us to significantly simplify the order process. d'aucy was very impressed with the Equinox solution and today they even only work with printers equipped that use this solution. After six months of working we Equinox, we can conclude that the solution enables us to put ourselves in a competitive price position and allows us to win new customers.
