- Ayşe, Ayşe, even in warfare, hospitals, infirmaries and places known to hold wounded
people may not be assaulted. On the contrary, these places are secured. Even though it was
known that Divan Hotel was used as an infirmary tonight, police throwing tear gas in there,
right through the door of the Hotel, and not letting the wounded pass, is a really saddening
event, that one doesn't come across even in war. We are calling for conscience.
- Mr. Uğur, this place is a mess. I am having trouble breathing. Tear gas came all the way to the
lower floors. There isn't any medical staff nearby...
-Oh, my...
-We are stuck here. This is ridiculous, this has to be stopped. This has to stop
immediately. We cannot breathe. This is disgraceful.
- It really is disgraceful. This is a crime against humanity. Even in
warfare, buldings holding wounded people may not be assaulted. Infirmaries, hospitals may
not be assaulted this way. Those places should be secured, wounded people should be secured,
even in war. But it was already well known that this hotel was being used as an infirmary,
this place being assaulted this way, is really disgraceful.
- You said that the police has withdrawn, but it seems that they have fired tear gas in every floor.
We are having trouble breathing and we need medical help.
