On May 3rd, CEFET/RJ hosted the lecture
Origins and Transformation of Quadratura Painting,
a historical Brazillian heritage,
at Auditorium 6 of the Maracanã Campus.
The quadratura is a painting genre that
represents architectures in perspective.
It is a pictorial genre that uses
Giuseppina Raggi - Researcher of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa
a monumental pictorial expression, I mean,
the ceilings and the walls are completely painted
and of architectures in perspective,
pretending other spaces.
The event was an extension activity that occured by
an invitation from the disciplin History of Art of the
Ethno-Racial Relations and Education specialization course
of CEFET/RJ.
Giuseppina will talk in this lecture about
the question of the origins and
transformations of this Quadratura paiting.
Nancy Rabelo - Professor CEFET/RJ
Then she will talk about how this arises,
where it is developed
where technically reaches a make of excellence
really, dramatically improved,
then undergoing Portugal how it is produced,
how it is being worked on and then comes to Brazil,
then in that process, in this technical estreat,
in this cultural transfer, the work takes on
different features and on arriving in Brazil
this context will be very particular,
very unique, very specific,
where the role of black people and mulattos
will be very incisive.
Today CEFET operates in various fields,
so the arrival of this researcher shows exactly this diversity
Maurício Saldanha Motta Vice Principal of CEFET/RJ
and I think it's interesting for all of us, in any area,
that you hold this knowledge,
often adding even in engineering itself,
because we will see here the question of art,
but there is the question of construction, right,
the very question of expression through artistic work,
so we expect it to be a lecture that may contribute
to the formation of our students,
whether from latu sensu or from stricto sensu.
