My name is Drew and I work for bc in the Marketing department. You’ve probably seen me on the website or in our blog, ...but today I want to tell you about my newest project, ... ...Ride with Drew. I am taking part in the Candy B. Graveller starting on the 12th of April. That means, no stopwatch, 640 km, 7,000 vertical meters, one stage, and all that in a self-supported bikepacking style. The name Candy B. originates from US pilots who threw sweets from air planes to Berlin children during the Berlin Airlift. Candy B. then stands for Candy Bomber. During the ride we have to stick to a Codex: That means riding under our own power, staying on the provided track, taking no outside help, bringing a care package with, and a few other things. You also might ask yourself what kind of bike I’m going to be using. You can see it behind me, my Salsa Fargo 27.5” monster truck. A true bikepacking bike outfitted with Ortlieb bikepacking bags that are super waterproof. This bike is going to be my trusty steed and help me tackle the route. To keep things from getting boring, I also searched for someone to ride with and I asked the bc community if anyone was up for it. Nuno answered the call and we are going to tackle the 640 km together.
