Hello !
I think it's the end of last year,
I made a video of self portrait
to change my channel icon.
I didn't like my arm at the time... :P
and couldn't concentrate to the shooting.
and I didn't use the photos.
but now,
I have the new lens, and want to use it for my self portrait.
and I'd like to change my channel icon.
camera setting is here.
face detection AF,
dial A,
Fluorescent lamp WB,
and took by RAW file.
I started shooting like this...
but I thought the photos are like ID photos... Boring.
I wanted to take more active photos.
so, I used hair dryer and fans
to blow my hair.
and, changed the light settings,
and, used strobe light SB700.
I tried many settings.
but I actually liked very basic light setting.
Using 1 light from my left side was my favorite.
I put the main light on my left side (right side from you).
and the room light is on the ceiling. it was always on.
and,
I put the main light behind me,
then put a reflection board in front of me,
it looks like this.
then,
put the main light on my left side,
and set SB700 (strobe light), flash to a reflection board,
then I got the reflection light to me.
this is it.
I tried many kinds of light settings.
but as I told you before,
I liked very simple setting.
just using a single main light in front of me. (left side. )
I took total 1,000 photos.
I was holding the hair dryer on my right hand,
and holding shutter remote on my left hand,
then I have to keep my face expression at the same time.
It wasn't easy.
I chose this photo.
I liked the hair flows.
OK, let's develop it.
Let's start.
get the exposure little bit up.
next, get the contrast up a little bit.
get the vignetting.
I want to look my face skin smoother.
click the mask.
get the brush bigger.
click O key to see the area which you choose.
see, you can recognize the red color.
I'm not painting red,
it just shows which area I choose.
click O key again to remove red color.
then reduce clarity.
next, click spot correction,
I found something on the wall.
click the part you want to delete.
something is here, too.
and, here is white spot as well.
it doesn't look sharp enough,
get the sharpness little bit up.
and, I'd like to get the clarity up on my eye area.
click the mask again.
get the smaller brush.
choose the eyebrows, black eyes, and the eye lines.
then, get the clarity up.
I liked the correction.
I use it all the time when I develop portrait photos.
eye area is very important on portrait.
next, get the natural saturation up.
and, get the vignetting bit more up.
I want to make the photo into natural looking,
so, this is the final look.
OK, it's the final look.
I'm going to use it for my channel icon.
I tried one thing at the shooting.
I mean, at my last portrait video,
here is the video link,
in the video, I said, my arms look fat.
and I didn't like the photos.
but I wore no-sleeve cloth again this time.
but I didn't think my arms look fat.
I turned my arms to my body side like this...
it make optical illusion, my arms look thinner.
So, I kept my arms like that at the whole shooting.
if you are female, and don't like your arm fat, try it.
Please click thumbs up button if you like my video,
and I have Twitter and Instagram ID, follow them.
my ID is on the description box.
I'll upload my other portrait photos on my Instagram later.
OK, see you soon at the next video, bye !
