I think that we have in all matters... well...
it starts with the drums which have been recorded magnificently...
over to the guitars which are way more differentiated this time...
it feels like we have checked about 35 different amps for hours...
we've checked cabinets...
to make sure that NEGATOR lay their focus on their very own sound in 2013...
so if you start playing the record, you know immediately: this is NEGATOR...
NEGATOR is still a Black Metal-Band to me, simply because of the occult lyrics...
the music features way more Death Metal compared to their previous records...
what I like and what I prefer. Consequently, NEGATOR these days are more like a hybrid creature...
I believe, regarding the songwriting, the whole material is way more differentiated...
We have a lot more dynamics this time...
we have a lot of acoustic color in the vocals this time...
we have very deep growls...
we have big high screams...
we have real, what I call it Viking Screams...
and all of that makes it very diversified...
I think, what we had as a concept for PANZER METAL - to keep everything linear...
which, now that I look back, became to monotonous for me...
has been revised very well this time...
because Steve (Nachtgarm) brought a lot of acoustic colors into the recordings this time...
it was hard work, it was a tough road...
but I'm very satisfied with the result...
compared to PANZER METAL, we have balanced everything out what bothered us back then...
it is excellent to work with Eike...
it was like this back then and it still is like this today...
and I'm always excited to come to the Bille (River located right next to the Studio)...
and finalize the songs in this wonderful working environment...
the Death Metal elements in the songs let them become heavy...
it's pounding, it's brutal, it's just massive...
and then we have these singing, melancholic melodies...
like in "Nergal, the Raging King", or in "Serpents Court"...
there my hearts starts to bleed...
that's the melancholy I love in Black Metal...
and I wanted to have that on this record again...
the songwriting process took about 2 to 2,5 years...
and... well... it just takes this long to make a record...
which is so intense...
maybe other people can do it faster...
I can't do it faster...
not If I want to say that every song is perfect as it is...
that every note is like I want them to be...
it just takes some time to achieve this...
I was overwhelmed by the riffs, by the sound...
by the overall picture...
it is just more than I ever expected it to be...
and now, as it is done and sounds like it does, it gives me goosebumps...
especially in "Serpents Court" and "Nergal, the Raging King"...
emotions come forth and go through my whole body and I don't want it to stop...
his cymbal and my vocals... right here....
is that exact enough for you?...
2 years of work have paid out at the end...
when I listen to the songs, or read my lyrics...
Finally, after a long time, I have the feeling that I've created something...
that I achieved something...
which really touches me emotionally...
I'm very satisfied with the result...
I'm very satisfied with the work Eike has put into this record as producer...
I'm very proud of my comrades Hjalmort, Samebrann, Finnskald and of Kliffjard...
who all have brought in their parts to help this Album become a milestone...
the record is simply honest...
with every note and every word...
to me it is the most important record in NEGATOR's history ever...
and it is good that we made this record...
