Iranian teenager Sahar Tabar who attracted worldwide infamy for her eerie likeness to Angelina Jolie has revealed what she really looks like without make-up
The 19-year-old shot to fame on Instagram last year thanks to her bizarre selfies where she sported angular cheekbones, hollow cheeks and an extreme curving nose, that fans likened to the Hollywood actress
After going viral, Sahar reportedly claimed she had 50 surgeries and lost 40 kilos to get her distinctive look and mimic her "idol"
But she attracted lots of criticism with many people comparing her looks to Tim Burton's the Corpse Bride and many doubting if her looks were real, or just the result of digital trickery
After causing a flurry of internet speculation Sahar appeared to confirm she had had cosmetic surgery but insisted she never wanted to look like A-lister Jolie
She told Russian website Sputnik News although she had some plastic surgeries, including rhinoplasty, liposuction and cosmetic procedures to give her fuller lips, her spooky looks were mostly down to make-up prosthetics and photoshop
She also reportedly confirmed the suspicions of eagle-eyed social media users who claimed the photos were definitely digitally altered
She said: "No. It is Photoshop and makeup. Every time I publish a photo I make my face more fun
It is my way of self-expression, a kind of art. My followers know that this is not my real face
"I had no interest at all to be like Angelina Jolie, and I did not want to look like the character from 'Corpse Bride'
"I understand that I do have some similarities with them, but I am my own muse and I did not want to look like anyone
That was not my aim." Now the teenager from Tehran has taken to the social media platform to reveal what she actually looks like - and it couldn't be more different
She has shared two images on Instagram earlier this month. One is unedited and one shows Sahar as her 'look-a-like' alter ego
In the unedited images Sahar looks nothing like her spooky online persona fans of the account have come to expect
The photos will confirm the suspicions of those on social media who doubted the images when Sahar first went viral
At the time many people pointed to the warped backgrounds of her photos as evidence the images had been manipulated
