An advertising slogan that would probable have been a bit too honest for the goPro team
On their own website GoPro is completely unscrupulous and writes
If the camera is a HERO 3 or 3+ and won't turn on after charging
remove the battery and put it back in.
Possibly you have to repeat this up to 10 times.
Up to.. Up to TEN TIMES? Why? In other words
Our Product is crap! Hey! Unfortunately I noticed this 400€ too late.
Let's go. First support request. Dear Sir or Madam blah blah
GoPro won't always turn on blah blah The first reply:
Too bad blah blah Please make an Update from version 1.04
to version 1.04 blah blah I didn't want to refuse to do that and kept
struggling with the camera for 2 hours to be able to make an Update that should only
take 10 minutes. The camera acted as before.
The second request: Camera after update still sh** blah blah
How do we continue?
The second reply: The camera will be replaced.
A few days later the camera was back.
After unpacking I immediately noticed there was some coating missing on a corner.
So I had a closer look and found a tiny scratch centered on the lens.
The "brand new" replacement model acted just like the first one.
The third request:
appearance of replaced camera does not match that of a new one blah blah
Is functionally broken just like the first one blah blah
Sincerely blah blah The reply nuber three:
It is impossible that the error is in the camera. I shall take a picture
of my sd-card and make a video of the functional defect.
I did not use an sd-card. Summarizing: A product that,
if you can get it to turn on, takes nice pictures.
A support that tells you about broken sd-cards and and individual cases
and the absurd idea to publish on their own website that you have to
reinsert the battery up to 10 times instead of recalling the product.
I may now continue struggling with the support and wish you good times.
