Its shocking that only 3.7% of what's brought in in ticket sales equates to what's raised
for good causes. Even if the Operation Fundraiser formula had still been in place the charity
fund this year would've been about £250,000. The whole village has been exploited for ages
and we've got bad leaders. It used to raise a lot more when we were just shaking buckets
in the streets. The charities got a lot more money back then. If anybody was at this years
Pride there was not one business represented at Pride. None of the charities are here non
of the big charities and we are disappointed that they are not speaking out the smaller
charities really need this money the bigger ones not so much. And it should be supporting
the people that we love and the charities that we care about. I'm disgusted in the way
that its now just a money maker. I think the LGF, Pride, Manchester City Council, and other
assorted interested parties they all pee in the same pot you know and I think that's why
its come to £34,000 because all the money goes on marketing Manchester as a city, as
a fun city as a place to party. We used to have a picnic in the park several years ago
we can't do that now on a Sunday or a Monday because we are not allowed to bring any bags
in or any food in. The village is meant to be a safe place but why should we pay for
a safe place when it should be like that all year round? Well what I'd like to see like
the parade actually be free so people can actually join in you have to have the wristband
to actually go on the march. One thing we did do was that when the event finished at
the bank holiday in the August we gave the money out within three weeks. Pride is no
longer doing what it should do raising awareness and money for the charities and money for
the people living with *** and AIDS. Pride not profit, pride not profit.
