SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS DAY.
FOR MANY, 9/11 IS A DAY TO
REMEMBER.
REMEMBER THE WAY WE FELT, THE
THINGS WE SAW AND ESPECIALLY
THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES.
IT'S BECOMING A DAY FOR
TEACHING, TEACHING CHILDREN WHO
HAVE NO MEMORY OF THE EVENTS OF
9/11 HOW TO NEVER FORGET.

NEWPORT, FIRE CHIEF POSED THE
QUESTION, HOW DO WE PASS ON THAT
DUTY?
TODAY GRADE SCHOOL CHILDREN
WERE OTHER -- NOT EVEN BORN.
THEY READ ABOUT THAT DAY IN
HISTORY BOOKS.
THEY BRING AMERICANS TOGETHER
TO RING THE BELL FOR THE 442
FIREFIGHTERS WHO DIED TRYING TO
SAVE OTHERS.
COMPELLING OTHERS TO SERVE THEIR
COMMUNITY, LIKE THESE WHO
PARTNERED WITH
HABITAT FOR
HUMANITY FOR THE LAST FIVE
YEARS.
OUR COLLEAGUES WERE IMPACTED
AND THAT HURT EVERY ONE OF US.
MANY VOLUNTEERS ARE ALSO
PARENTS WHO ARE HONORING THE
PAST AND THINK OF HOW THEY'LL
SHARE THE IMPACT WITH
THEIR
CHILDREN.
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN
