E3 means a lot for any game that is being presented here but it means especially a lot to Hitman Absolution.
We are here because it is the biggest show in the industry calendar and it’s going to define how successful we really will be.
For a game like Hitman, it’s really critical for us to be exposed and get a lot of coverage for the game because it’s such a big project.
We have several theatres where Square Enix is presenting and one of the main theatres is the Hitman Absolution theatre where we will be showing exclusively behind closed doors the Streets of Hope demo.
Then on the floor people can of course play the King of Chinatown level and we also have access to the Sniper Challenge.
And in the back, we have the interview rooms where we can talk to journalists with a bit more privacy because here on the floor during the show it gets really noisy.
We think meticulously about everything, right down to the screen settings on the television, the audio levels in the headphones, the branding on the headphones. You can see these bad boys with branding on both sides to make a good impression. Yeah, we think of everything.
Outside of the show, which I know is probably more hard for people to see, we have flags and banners, big posters, the full staircase. When you come to LA this year, Hitman really stands out as the stellar title that it is.
The next few days are going to be extremely packed with interviews and presenting the code to journalists and it will be very intense.
I have a little office in the back of the booth where I think I will be spending most of my time. I won’t be seeing any of the glitter on the floor.
Myself and Nick are going to be in the theatre presenting, we’ve got Dan and Travis working the pods, Sven running PR and we’ll all probably do multiple roles throughout the day.
I’m going to do tons of live shows; IGN, Machinima etc. obviously to talk about our new game. I’m really, really excited about that.
It really feels overwhelming as a developer coming here and seeing your game getting that kind of exposure – it’s like a once in a lifetime experience!
We have a lot of content and it’s of a very high quality and it has everything from the classic gameplay elements to the more modern aspects that we have tried to introduce into the series. I think it’s a complete package that will cater to many different desires from the audience.
It’s really really cool stuff. I’m very very excited!
It’s a little bit new, a little bit more sleek and yeah, it’s great!
This is my first time playing Hitman. It’s pretty impressive!
I hope that they’ll get the true Hitman experience; get a sense of the open world, the choices, the different things that you can do, the fact that you can approach situations in multiple ways, you can create distractions or accident kills and all these different types of things. Everything that is core Hitman but more evolved in a way – we’re showing off a lot of the new features such as Instinct and so on.
The world is full of detail, that’s what I like first of all and I’m a big Hitman fan of course. So yeah, I’m really excited about it.
It looks great, man!
Awesome. I love it!
I like it a lot. There’s a lot of attention to detail in the game and I love the Hitman series – it’s really classy and this is playing really well so far.
Game Informer Best of Show. I’m about to tweet it out to the world.
I think they look at our product and they are blown away by the depth and scale of what you can do with our game. We’re showing so much here, so many different things, areas, levels, moments, checkpoints. There really is such a breadth of Hitman here.
It’s such a relief to be here finally. We’ve been working so much for this to happen and to see it here, it feels really good.
From what we’ve seen, it’s awesome! From my presentations when I can see people’s reactions; they laugh at all the right points. They seem like they have fun and when you talk to people at the pods, they’re enjoying it too. I think it’s great. I think we are outdoing ourselves compared to last year actually. Also, giving people hands-on is actually a good way of proving the gameplay . When everyone saw the game last year, they were thinking ‘Yeah, yeah it looks kinda like a Hitman game but is it very directed or is it exactly what we want?’ We spent a good amount of time trying to convince them that it is but now that they’re getting hands-on, everyone’s thinking: ‘That’s it. This is Hitman. This is what I want!’
