Gunman in Firefighter Ambush - 'killing what i do best'

hey we've been covering a lot of these different shootings that have been going on there on the on monday about a list of like fifty of them which are even being talked about because of the c_n_b_c_ the sandy school uh... looks cool shooting another wanted to place this week is william spengler who uh... broken incredible note which has now been recovered before killing ambushing essentially the webster firefighters he said i'm going to do what i like doing best killing he also pledged to burn down his neighborhood and uh... the body and other body believed to be his missing sister was also found this a sixty two-year-old william spangler he served seventeen years in prison for manslaughter back in nineteen eighty for the hammer slang of his grandmother he said his house on fire before dont on christmas eve he took a revolver shotgun a semiautomatic rifle to a sniper position outside of the house and when firefighters showed up he actually killed two firefighters and injured to others who remained hospitalized yesterday in stable condition police recovered a military style two twenty three caliber semiautomatic bush master bush master rightful with flash suppression this is one that was found and the vehicle at the newtown connecticut shooting but as far as i know not used to actually kill anybody what's your thought on this bill we've talked about this so much whether we're talking about gun control or whether you know that as the n_r_a_ has said we need a mental illness database which i find to be a total distraction uh... when you hear about these shootings look at what have you been talking about on your show well i i personally can even deal with the children not mind brain does not allow me to even processed killing children i don't get it i don't understand it and uh... actors have not been able to to deal with it but you just said something right now that i did not know he said that this guy was in jail or in prison anti and their two types of people that should never be our present ever-present can kill their own grandmother they're never going to be unproductive member of society if a person can take a hammer to the grandmother they're never going to be a member a productive society a productive member society this guy did both well that's interesting probe for whatever reason he served seventeen years for manslaughter for the hammer slaying of his grandmother so im well i don't know the details of that for whatever reason the legal system determined that it was manslaughter and not *** i would be curious what the details of that case uh... yeah and they must have been a plea bargain in order to get it done maybe our court systems are overloaded you know i a i don't i had no that the n_r_a_ is really thomas save themselves at this point of the issue all types of things but i do think that we have to look at other ways to try to identified these maniacs before they get out i mean he's sixty two years old i'm shocked that it took an islamic do something like this what what's it's interesting what what you're saying go because one of the other meds is this idea that simply by tracking people with supposedly mental illness which the n_r_a_ has suggested you're not really going to get allotted these people specifically because they uh... they offer in this particular case we had a history of crime with this individual but with a lot of people there is no history of crime rate at times so even creating this database would do nothing yen not to mention the potential civil liberties infringements that would come from having a national database of people i mean honestly there's legally i don't know that there's any real difference between having a list of people who are mentally um... ill and having a list of people who are to issue or a list of people who are hispanic case i don't really get how that would even be legal that's an interesting point
