You're a contact lens wearer and you're suffering an injury to
your eye, even though you haven't experienced any trauma.
And you're concerned that the lenses that you are wearing
could have been the cause of your injuries. My name is Dan
Burke and I'm a lawyer at Parker Waichman in New York. And I can
help you answer those questions. The first thing you should do is
go to your medicine cabinet at home and take a look to see if
the lenses that you were wearing were the Avaira toric lens
manufactured by Coopervision. These lenses were sold to major
retailers throughout the United States including Costco,
Wal-Mart, and Lenscrafters. Back in August of this year, the
company quietly issued a recall of a number of these lenses due
to some sort of residue on the lenses, following complaints of
blurry vision from patients who use these lenses. Later in
October of this year, under pressure from the FDA, they
issued a second recall notice again trying to recall over
$500,000 of these lenses. Injuries that patients have
experienced from using these lenses include eye pain, corneal
abrasions and tears, blurry or impaired vision. Why am I
telling you this? We deal with these types of problems and
questions every day. So give us a call. Give me a call in the
office at the number below and I can answer the questions you
have and we can investigate your claims, get your medical
records, and tell you if you have a claim. Again, my name is
Dan Burke. I'm a lawyer at Parker Waichman in New York and
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for taking the
time to watch.
