Doesn't matter if we came in 29th or we won an Olympic medal. We're still a winner.
The stars of this year's Winter Olympics - Jamaica's bobsleigh team - meet the media after winning
the popular vote, if not any actual medals.
There's no regret. It's worth it of course because we've been away from the Olympics
for 12 years now and a lot of people throughout the world have been asking, "Where are the
Jamaican bobsleigh team?"
Finishing second last after Serbia failed to start their third run, 46-year-old Winston
Watts and brakeman Marvin Dixon say it hasn't left them feeling disheartened.
No matter where you finish, as long as we compete and have the sportsmanship. We compete,
and we have fun. That's it.
And having raised $80,000 to even be able to take their place in Sochi, the duo say
they want to be taken seriously.
Cool Runnings opened such a wide space for the Jamaican bobsleigh team of course. We
love that movie, but we are different. We went out there, competed as serious competitors
and showed the world that we are no bunch of jokers, we're serious contenders.
So let's hope everyone's favourite bobsleigh team are back for the next Olympics.
