The chlorophyll is kind of like a Halloween mask,
once you remove the chlorophyll, then the yellows, and the oranges,
and the reds can come out.
Red maples, which is the tree behind, usually produce
red-colored leaves.
The red is produced when the chlorophyll ceases production,
and there's a lot of sugar caught in the leaves.
Most people I know prefer bright, sunny days
with warm temperatures, cool evenings that aren't freezing
and not too many rainy days.
And that is the exact weather that produces the best leaf color.
This is a blazing star.
It's one of the fall plants that one can see this time of year
on the prairies.
