Episode 3 of 6 -- Chrome Plug -- Evernote Web Clippers
Hey everybody, welcome back to Getpaidto tutor/meetmytutor.com --Productivity
Ninja series Episode 3 of 6 and we're looking at Chrome Plug-ins. Again if you want
to skip right ahead and look out how exactly how I use my computer, my Mac then
you can just click this link, in this corner and pop that URL getpaidtotutor.com/
Productivity Ninja. Today we're going to look at Evernote Web
Clipper. Evernote Web Clipper syncs in with Evernote itself which you just got down
here. It's a tool that you may well have heard about. This is my recent note as you
can see Justin here, I've got notebook, I can tag things as one just downloaded and
syncs with Evernote Web Clipper. There's the Evernote marketplace—I've not even look
at it. And then of course as you can see, you can upgrade to Evernote premium and
get bunch of stuff. So let's go through not rather the desktop
application, but rather Evernote. Evernote ** quite obviously uses it for everything
including the writing of this book. I use it as
a dumping ground. This things I could clean once a catch on the fly that I like to
index and store for later, then I do use Evernote Web Clipper.
So you just click on here, let me take me through some of its functions. Click on that
and this pops up and theres a variety of ways in which you can save clicks. Now it
doesn't—up here, don't work so well if it's an entire news front webpage, like the
BBC. However if I click off and then I go to, "Can these cute cats help you learn a
new language" article, so we got a regular new story here, it seems to work quite
well in a kind of blog type pages , and you can go to Evernote you can basic ** stuff
which I'll take you through one by one. So you can click the article, so the article
is as you can see expand through selection, it's just that area there. Let's
get back to it. So you can click the article as
you know see, it click the article, you can have the simplified article which is literally
just that part there, it doesn't change the rest of it. You can click that then you can
either share that if you want to. And it saves as a hyperlink, so it's copied clip, there's a manner of ways in which you can
share it. That's another email address I've got logged in with my Evernote account
but you can send it right to somebody or you can even indeed send somebody the hyperlink
and that's how it would come out. It's pretty useful in that way.
You can, of course get the full page and then you get the kind of bookmark which is
listed here and then you can add a tag to it. The other thing you can also do is take
a screenshot, I've got a screenshot, there's a variety of things I can do. If I want
someone to look at this cat in particular, next to it I want to do some cool drawings
and then move drawing out, this is another example of what you can do. It has quite
a lot of cool functions as you can see. You're probably thinking, Awesome screenshot,
why don't use this and paste an Awesome screenshots. I think Awesome screenshots
are a bit quicker and I love that syncs with Google Drive. Cause Google Drive
is one of the big thing that I do use and it's just a quick on the fly thing. I
think there's a couple more clicks involved with this. So that is basically how to use
it. And then you can then of course go ahead and save that it will save to my actual Evernote
account. So basically just to say again, if I go to blogs about the cats--big
cat blogger, here's a blog and this is basically how I will typically... okay this
is quite interesting -- take that—go there... let's go somewhere else.
Let's try Tumbl'r instead of Blog box. I simplify the article and then I would save it
and that's basically how I use it. And then my Evernote account becomes kind of
dumping ground for all of my stuff. So that is Evernote Web Clipper. In fact if it's any
use to you then get on over and give a dollar. Again as I said if you want to see in
depth how I use my laptop then just go to this link showing
