Dinner ladies star spent time with children Grace and Henry on Tuesday evening
VICTORIA Wood laughed with family who surrounded her beside hours before she sadly lost her short battle with cancer.
The Lancashire-born comedy star reportedly sat in bed speaking with her 2 children Henry and Grace on Tuesday evening.
“She was sat up in bed talking and joking at 11pm with her family around her but the next morning she died,” a friend told The Sun.
“It has shocked the family but she dealt with it in her own way. She always knew what she wanted and liked to be in control. She handled the cancer the same way.”
The death of the 62 year old on Wednesday has prompted tributes from family, colleagues and figures across entertainment and public life.
Victoria's long-time comedy partner Julie Walters said: “Too sore heart to comment. The loss of her is incalculable.”
Jennifer Saunders said: "Cant believe Vic has gone. She was truly an inspiration and had so much left to to give and we won't see it. She was so funny."
Alan Carr and “another legend” has been lost. “2016 is going to be one of those years it seems. So so sad RIP Victoria Wood,” he said.
