Hello welcome to another episode of HomeMade Healthy
Today I'm gonna show you how to make the best
sweet potato fries in the oven.
These are part of a healthy paleo lifestyle, wheat-belly lifestyle.
What we do is we get organic sweet potatoes.
Which I get at Trader Joe's. If you're not lucky enough to have a Trader Joe's close
I feel for you. What you should do then is find a farmer or farmer's market and get your
produce there.
So first we're going to take our sweet potatoes, and they've been rinsed.
You just cut the ends off of them. Sweet potatoes are
pretty hard. So find the flattest spot start cutting.
You may look like you're struggle a little bit when you cut these. So I got the flattest
part down.
I usually will take it and cut a piece off. And that's a really nice flat spot
Then I'll turn it and that way I know I've got a lot more stability.
I take this one piece and I just cut into
french fry links. About this big. Try to make them all about the same size so they cook
together.
Then I put them in stoneware.
Mines Pampered Chef. Stoneware's great because they don't stick. But if you're going to
use something like
a cookie sheet or something else make sure you spray it first.
Or put coconut oil down first before you put the potatoes in.
But don't have to worry about that.
So I'm gonna put these in. I can tell you we go through
a lot of these at my house. My eleven-year-old, this is her favorite favorite thing.
She find that we have sweet potatoes, she's happy happy.
We're just gonna do the same thing. Trying to make them all very somewhere in size.
Then we're gonna put them on our sheet. Sweet potatoes are
really healthy for you. They're delicious.
Super easy to make. You can bake them. Fry them.
Something else I like to do, which we won't make a whole video on,
I'll take them like this and cut them into home fries. I'll put them in a skillet.
With some coconut oil and fry them up. Amazing! (sing songy)
Oh and then you wanna kick it up again? What you can do
is those sweet potato home fries,
add some sausage, ground sausage in with them and it makes like a hash.
Oh my gosh! Super happy in the morning with a fried egg on top.
So we're gonna do that with rest of the sweet potatoes.
You wanna cook them at 400, 450. Depending on how much time you have.
Before you put them into the event you want to take
coconut oil. Which I have right here. I melted it.
I use organic extra *** cold pressed.
I get this at Sam's Club. It's about fifteen dollars which is great.
It will last us a little over a month. And we use a lot of coconut oil.
You wanna meltedit. It's winter here now so
obviously everything is less then 76 degrees.
You wanna get it above seventy-six so it's liquid. Then you just
Pour it. Drizzle it over.
We have to make two trays when we make them. Then salt them.
Half way through your cooking turn them over with a spatula.
So that they can get cooked on each side. It should take
you about 30-45 minutes if you make them small,
for them to be done. Take a fork, if they're soft you know they're ready.
But they turned super sweet with that coconut oil and salt on them.
So I'll put them in the oven and show you what they look like when they're done.
They're all done
and they look great. Thanks for watching.
