Let it snow, let it snow let it snow.
What? I can't even get snow via special effects? Aw, man!

Hi there, I'm Roberto. Hope you guys are doing well.
Let's talk about snow. For the uninitiated, read those of us who
have lived our entire lives in places where snow doesn't fall,
well, snow is basically what happens to rain when the temperature outside is near or below
0° Celsius, 32° Fahrenheit. And in many places in the northern hemisphere
where they actually have a real winter season, well they're actually covered in snow at this
time. And since we were kids we've been exposed
to Christmas specials and programming where they depict snow as something magical and
uberly fun. But we have been lied to!
OK, maybe just told half-truths. It turns out there is a dark side to this
white powdery stuff. And just to be clear, we're still talking
about snow here. Snow is something very polarizing. You either
love it or you hate it. It's hard to be indifferent about it.
All that snow accumulated on the ground has to melt down eventually when the temperature
rises. And when that happens, the bigger the snow
accumulation, the bigger the risk of flooding. But we're getting ahead of ourselves, because
before that happens there is a risk. After some days accumulated on the ground
with cold temperatures, this snow will turn into ice.
It makes it very hard to walk, and a complete nightmare when it comes to driving, because
there is an art of winter driving but not everyone has mastered it.
And of course you don't want a huge pile of snow blocking your driveway or the main entrance
to your house, which brings one of the biggest reasons people have to hate snow and that
is shoveling. I get it. It's hard to find the fun in snow
when you're the one who has to shovel it, just like it's hard to enjoy the beautiful
colors of fall when you're the one who has to rake all those leaves.
As for me, the only time I've experienced snow in my entire life was on early 2004.
I was 30 years old, I was on a business trip and my boss was with me the whole time, so
I had no chance to play on the snow, do snow angels let alone skiing or snowboarding.
Still, I liked the snow for the first couple of days, by the third day I was already sick
of it. Still, I'd love to experience it at least
one more time. Who knows, maybe next year I'll take a trip
in a different context and will be able to actually have some fun in the snow, even though
it's going to be weirder for an older dude to be doing that but, hey I still want to
do it. But to those of you who are dreading all that
shoveling and scraping windshields, I feel your pain.
Bet you'd love to have this right now, don't you?
U Jelly? [laughs]
