Hello, this is Lucas Palmeira from Imaginando, and I'm here to give you another tutorial on DRC.
Today I'm gonna show you how to make the bass line from the song 'Behind The Stars' by the artist Pantha Du Prince
So to start I'm gonna load a DRC on a default patch as we normally do
Okay like this and I'm gonna start by changing the mode from poly to mono
raising the first oscillator to maximum
then raising the sub oscillator to about this much (0.8)
Raising its octave to maximum as well
Now I'm gonna raise the pre-gain to about this much, (0.8) so we get some saturation going on
Okay now I'm gonna drop the cutoff filter to about this much (0.26)
And drop the envelope generator to about this much that controls the filter to about this much (0.35)
And raise a little bit the resonance (0.17)
Okay like this now. I'm gonna draw on the first envelope generator. I'm gonna drop the sustain to the same volume as the DK
Like this and raise the release a little bit
And on the second develop generator, I'm gonna drop the sustain to about the same volume as the release
And the DK as well
Like this it's gonna drop the release a little bit on the first level of generator like this
Now I'm going to the
Modulation of the cutoff frequency, and I'm gonna change the KBD (0.7) this means that the cutoff frequency will change
with the notes played
And on the velocity I'm gonna do the same
Actually, let's raise these two maximum
Like this
I'm gonna give you the little bit of reverb (0.2)
And a little bit of chorus
Rate (0.18) Depth (0.16)
Now finally a little bit of portamento (43ms)
And this should be it. let's now listen to the melody that I played before
Let's listen
And this is it I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial don't forget to subscribe Imaginando's YouTube channel
