Sometimes it's great to be able to edit and rate your photographs during a shoot.
For instance, let's take the shoot I did on Hamilton Island which you can see here.
Whether I'm sitting in a helicopter or with my feet up in the bar by the pool,
the IQ back is a useful editing device, and the touchscreen is really fun to use too.
From the main menu touch the play icon or press the top left button.
The default play mode is the tool view with the five tools on the right.
Along the bottom of the screen you can see
how many more images you can capture on the card,
the remaining battery power,
how many images are already on the card, and which one you're looking at.
Touch the context menu button and you can choose two other view modes.
The thumbnail view mode lets you quickly locate images
while the full screen mode maximizes the LCD screen for a larger image.
Look how easy it is to enlarge the image to 100 percent
and to pan around to check for focus and details.
This is really useful.
However, the editing doesn't stop here.
Touch the context menu button and then touch the delete/rating icon in the top left.
Two new tools are added to the screen.
The delete button let you remove files; touch the icon and then select delete.
If a photo is particularly good, touch one of the dots in the rating panel.
You can choose from one to five stars
or you can deselect by touching the blank space on the left.
To delete multiple images quickly jump back into thumbnail view,
touch the context menu button, and touch the delete button.
Now you can select multiple images to delete. Notice how a red trash icon appears.
When you're finished touch the delete button at the bottom
and confirm this is what you want to do.
Phase One really has put a lot of thought into how we can use it's digital backs.
