Welcome to The 2013 Virtual Assessment Conference

Hi everyone, I'm Marge Connelly, the interim president at Longwood and I want to welcome
your faculty and staff as well as invited guests, members of the Virginia Assessment
Group for our annual Longwood Assessment Conference. This is our third year holding this conference,
but this is the first time it is virtual and we hope you find this change in format effective.
I know everyone who is watching is committed to excellence and agree that a vital part
of reaching this is being excellent in assessment. That's why LAMP - the Longwood Assessment
Mini Grant Program was initiated inas a vehicle to encourage both academic and non-academic
units to explore, to learn, and to develop their meaningful assessment practices and
even the scholarship in assessment. In other words, to develop Longwood's own model of
assessment.
For 2013, LAMP theme is: "Meaningful Assessment for Student Success." Please consider to be
a part of the LAMP. Further detail will come from the Office of Assessment and
Research soon and enjoy the conference
