take a moment to get comfortable
with your arms and legs uncrossed, with
feet on the floor if you are sitting and when you are ready
allow those eyes to gently close
and begin by focusing on your breathing
Let those lungs take a couple of deep breaths
and as they do, feel how good it is to let
them fill with life-giving oxygen
filling deeply
letting the lungs open fully
and allowing the oxygen
to flow in and flow out
as you breathe in, imagine breathing in a
colour and feeling of calmness
with each breath
Take normal breaths now
breathing easy...letting the breaths flow
in and out as they normally would
continuing to feel calmer with each breath you take in
and while the breaths flow out
allow yourself to let go of any pressure that has built up during the
course of the day
breathing in calm, breathing out tension
so that each time
the pressure lessens and the restful
and the restful feeling inside increases
as the body releases the energy from the muscles
allow the random thoughts that come into the mind to
flow through. There's no need to focus on them.
acknowledge them and let them go
knowing that they will not be forgotten
knowing that they can be addressed
later a time that is suitable for dealing with them
just let them drift away
allowing the conscious mind to take
a break and the subconscious
to focus on my voice
becoming aware that any of the normal day to day sounds
fade gently into the distance
any sounds outside of my voice
will only serve to deepen the relaxation
and soothe the senses
quieting the mind and body
bringing a reassurance that all is well
all is normal
all is fine
and that now is a good time to release what is not needed
that's right
it's time to connect with the body...feeling it...
seeing it...and beginning to focus on relaxing the muscles in the body
starting with the feet
those feet that work so hard to carry the body to where it
needs to go every day
releasing the energy from those feet allows a
lovely calm feeling of relaxation
to flow from the toes to the ankles
as that feeling of relaxation continues to flow
it moves up the legs...through the muscles
loosening them
allowing tension to be set free
Along with that feeling, you may hear a tune or see a colour
Its own special colour...its own special music
that connects within.
Allow that to flow with the relaxed feeling
as it travels gently and comfortably up
to the top of the legs and into the torso
the body loves this feeling...this wonderful feeling of peace
and it has earned this moment
to just take it easy
the rest of the body can enjoy it too
as the relaxation moves up through the
bottom half of the body, flowing into the
stomach area...helping it to release
anything no longer needed
relaxing the stomach muscles... filling the area with a pleasant
feeling of calm...a sense of comfort
and safety allowing any tension to
gently uncoil...so that a feeling of
calm takes its place
that's good
if you have a tune or colour moving with this
deep, relaxing feeling, then
just take a moment to see it or hear it
allowing the mind to enjoy it
before letting the relaxation continue its journey
flowing into the back
letting the back muscles relax
all energy and tension in the spin
and the back muscles let go and
gently float away
before flowing gently up and into the shoulders
and as those shoulders begin to feel looser
they may even slump and this is ok
this is good...
because as the shoulders drop down, the body will
drop down with them into an even
deeper relaxed state
and my voice will follow
the body feels more relaxed
comfortable...calm...maybe even a little floaty
As the relaxation moves
its focus to the arms...its own
special colour, feeling or sound
briefly shows through to you...letting you enjoy it
for a moment before flowing
down those arms gently
allowing the energy to release and the muscles to slacken
while relaxed calmness flows down the arms
all the way to the tips
of the fingers, bringing
with it a heavy feeling to the limbs now
the flow continues above the shoulders
as the energy in the neck is released
and with it, the colour, feeling or
sound that is unique to this process of relaxation
flows gently up the neck and the throat
allowing a special moment where communication is not needed
only enjoying the moment to let it settle quietly
and maybe even feeling a soothing sense of comfort
knowing that this is okay
let the relaxed feeling now flow through the jaw
unclenching it and allowing it to rest
the lips and mouth, enjoying this
moment of peace with no need to communicate
the cheeks
the sinuses...letting you breathe
easily and comfortably...the ears...
and the eyes...the closed eyelids feel so heavy, so comfortable
that they couldn't even open if they wanted to
but right now they are content
to stay closed and the flow
of relaxation continues all the way
up to the top of the head...to the crown
where the body and mind
let go of anything that is left that is not needed
and lets it all just drift away
that's good
take a moment to enjoy this
blissful feeling of calm, becoming aware that
the body is so heavy...
so deeply relaxed...so comfortable
that it is limp and almost
feels like it is moulded to whatever
it is touching...safe...warm
and comfortable
Enjoy that moment
just being...just breathing
so nice...just letting the body and the mind
do what it knows it can do
doing what is best for the whole person...
allowing rest
The mind and the body are amazing things
they have worked together from the time of birth
learning new things together, like how to walk
where taking each step was difficult
at first, but the body and mind were
willing, and kept learning how to
until it became an unconscious
act where the legs walk when needed to
without needing to think or concentrate
just automatically...like breathing
Being calm is like that
it is something the mind and
body know how to do
it just takes a moment to remind them
by relaxing muscles or focusing on breathing
whenever the signs of anxiety or worry begin
to rise
every day we have a range of experiences
the mind and body are equipped to handle these experiences
sometimes they handle things so
well, that they continue to
even when we don't need them to
they are such hard workers
it's good to let the mind have a rest
and to let go of what is no longer needed
no longer needed from the past...
no longer needed from that day... and doing this can be as
easy as breathing
as easy as letting go
it's enjoyable to take a break and let go of
what is no longer needed...taking a break
from what weighs down the mind and body
It can be as easy as putting it in a box...
sealing it up and sending it off...
never to be seen again
allowing the mind to be free of unnecessary
burdens and the body of unnecessary
restraints and discomforts. Wouldn't that be wonderful?
and the mind can take a moment to do that
right now, if it wishes to
just opening a box...
dropping everything in there that is no longer needed...
sealing it up...sending it off...
gone...
doing that would let the body and mind relax
and heal the way it needs to.
From this very moment onwards, they now work efficiently right
down to the very cell...
each cell being relaxed...letting go of
what it no longer needs. Letting the relaxing
colour, feeling or sound flow through it
to heal...to be in the
best health that this person can be...the way nature intended
because the ability to return to our prime health is
always within us. We simply needed to remove the burdens
and allow the mind and body to be healthy
calm...and in it's natural state
Imagine all the things that can now be done in the calm state.
The mind, clear...the heart, content...
the challenges of the day will simply flow
over and around without being
taken in...without being taken to heart and
taken to mind...
allowing the positive to be seen and absorbed...the rest to be let go of
just as the muscles let go of the energy.
The body and mind achieved this natural state
and can again, no matter what happens in the day
no matter what stress comes or what moments of upset...
returning to calm is a simple process...breathing and letting go
seeing the colour or hearing the tune of relaxation...
So easy...
So relaxing...
letting the mind and body be all it can be
returning to it's natural state
every day
recognizing how much better it gets
every day and the better it
gets every day, the more it will improve
and the more it will improve
the better it will get...
and the changes will be noticed
because they will be positive
and simple and it might even be suprising
how simple and how much better it improves
each day
If you now wish to sleep,
then let the body remain rested and enter into the deep
sleep state, enjoying dreams of a positive
and healing nature, letting the body
and mind recuperate from the day
waking in the morning to feel refreshed and alive
still feeling calm inside and the
energy will have returned to the body and sustain itself during the day
letting the mind be fully alert and awake
looking forward to the day ahead
and knowing that today and every day
will get better...so going to sleep now,
ignore what else I'm about to say and let the body go into that
deep rest state
if you want to wake up now then as I count from one to five
you will find that the mind will become
more alert and awake...the energy will flow
back into your body fully
one...letting the energy return to the body...
to the limbs....two...flowing through
allowing the body to begin feeling lighter
three... return to feeling light
as the energy fills the body now and you may feel a sensation of
the energy returning...four...
eyes feeling lighter, mind more alert returning to full awareness now
five..eyes open, mind clear and alert...remaining calm and looking forward to the rest of your day
knowing that you will feel great and will continue to maintain this feeling of
balance you have within.
