Hi, In this video we're going to talk you through using BT WiFi as a temporary backup
if your broadband connection is not working and you're using Windows 7.
If you've already connected using an Ethernet cable, unplug this now
Hover your mouse over the network connections icon located at the bottom right-hand corner
of the screen.
Left-click the icon to bring up a list of available wireless networks.
Left-click on BT Wifi, BT Openzone or BT Fon to connect. Tick the 'connect automatically'
box if you'll be using the service on a regular basis.
When connecting for the first time you'll be asked to select a location. We recommend
you choose the 'Public network' option.
You're now connected to a BT WiFi hotspot. We'll talk you through how to sign into
BT Wifi now or you can watch our video on "How to connect to BT Wi-fi"
Launch a web browser which should default to the BT WiFi landing page, if not, then
visit the link shown on screen now.
From this page select either BT Total Broadband, BT Openzone or BT FON Pass holder.
When prompted, simply enter your log-in credentials. For BT Total Broadband customers this is your
@btinternet.com (or @btopenworld.com) email address and password.
Now click 'connect'.
Remember, when your own broadband connection is working again, please visit the link on
screen to ensure that your computer is setup to use your Home Hub as the default connection.
If you don't do this then your computer may continue to use the FON backup connection
to connect to the internet which will not offer the same broadband speeds as your own
connection.
