My name is Andy Williams, I am the Stronger Communities Manager for Cheshire Constabulary.
We're looking to work in partnership with the local community, all the other stakeholders
particularly the licence trade, to promote ArcAngel. To promote the standards that it stands for,
and for all the licence trade to adhere to them standards. This is a partnership
initiative, which looks to promote the night time economy within Chester and assure
anyone visiting, living or working within Cheshire
that it is a safe and vibrant nighttime economy and they can come here to enjoy.
ArcAgnel will bring together licenced premises,
police and local authority to ensure that bars are signing up and
meeting
credited standards that are over and above those in the licencing conditions.
The aim is to keep people safe.
Chester Police have got a really good
relationship with the local licence trade
and that is shown through with
Pub Watch and other initiatives that are already in being in the city.
However, we're always consistently looking to improve what we do together in
partnership with the Council and with the local licence trade.
My names Clare Evans of Easy Tiger Nightclub, Frodsham Street, Chester.
We're part of the ArcAngel campaign to promote a safer city centre around Chester.
And help make the street safer.
This system that we've got coming in now, with the ArcAngel supporting us
will stop people who cause
alcohol related crime on a regular basis
being served in any licenced premises in Chester.
This is a great thing for all of us,
we will in future
be able to go for ASBO's, CRASBO's with the backup of the ArcAngel being a
partnership
of Chester Pub Watch.
I represent Chester City Ward, which is the city centre
of Chester,
and I think that the residents living in the Ward will really benefit from
ArcAngel,
it'll give them the peace of mind to know that the premises they are visiting are
well-regulated and well looked after.
ArcAngel is really a win-win all round.
It's going to provide us with a
brand that identifies Chester as a great place to come out, where people can
come and be reassured that the places they are visting, the licenced
premesis are well-managed, well-regulated,
safe places to enjoy themselves.
It's great for the businesses, it's great for the economy and it's going to
encourage lots more people to come and have a good night out in Chester.
