We will talk about the first races of the women's cycling year
First, we travel to The Tour Femenino de San Luis
run from 14 to 18th January
It was the first edition of this race, most of the riders were from national teams
but the UCI team United HealthCare
with Mara Abbott, Sharon Laws
and a stunning Hannah Barnes
the 20-years-old-british win the first stage
in a bunch sprint
the second stage had a hard climb in the last kilometres, adn was won by the brand new rider of
bizkaia durango clemilda fernándes
riding with the Brasilian national team
but Alison Powers broke her chances to win the overall. In the 3rd stage
the northamerican scape from the bunch and rode solo
and won the stage, the peloton arrived more tahn 3 minuntes later
so Alison had almost won the Tour de San Luis
The fourth day was the ITT (10'6 km)
Fernanda Da Silva was the fastest but wasn't able to overcome
Alison Powers
still leader, Fernanda second and Clemilda third
this didn't change in the last stage, a flat circuit
for a bunch sprint
the cuban rider Arlenis Sierra won
and Alison Powers got her two firt victories as pro
in the first edition of the Tour femenino de San Luis
and from Argentina to Qatar
Since the first day riders knew the dificulties of Qatar
wind, wind, wind and echelons
a group of 21 riders survived in the first stage
tha attacks, echelons, wind and
Kirsten Wild of Giant Shimano was the fastest
and was the first leader
in the second stage
Anna Van der Breggen Rabobank-Liv attacked in the last km
and Charlotte Becker Wiggle Honda
Inga Cilvinaite Be Pink
and Amy Pieters Giant Shimano joined
, rode together and were able to rerach the finish line
where Amy Pieters
won the stage and took enough bonuses time to lead the overall
from her mate Wild
in the 3rd
the same as in the firs
Kirsten Wild
won ahead of Lizzie Armitstead
taking the lead back from Pieters
what a great performance
the Giant Shimano did
because they also won the 4th stage
although Giorgia Bronzini
was right behind Wild
she wasn't able to overcome her
Wild won the overall, Pieters second
and third the australian Hosking. 4th overall for Wild
who has won 9 stages in the ToQ
From Catar to Costa Rica
this race was won in the ITT of the second day
but let's start with the firs stage
the brasilian Flavia Oliveira won in the uphill finish
attacking with 6 km to go
Alena Amialiusik and
Olga Zabelinskaya weren't able to reach her
so they loose 6 and 8 seconds
but in the ITT
20'4 kilómetres
Olga Zabelinskaya showed her strenght
in the speciality
(she was 3rd in the London Olympics)
and won by more than a minute
almost won the race the second day
with 3 stages to ride
in the third
the stage was won by
Shelley Olds Alé Cipollini
Moreover she won
almost all the points in the
sprint clasification
the 4rd day was the Queen Stage
Tatiana guderzo attacked with 15 to go
but a group of riders with the spaniard
Ane Santesteban (who ended 6th)
fought for the win

Astana BePink
was the fastest, but Zabelinskaya kept the lead
in the fifth stage
Shelley Olds took her second stage ahead
her mate Barbara Guarischi
Olga Zabelinskaya won the overall , second was Flavia Oliveira
and Amialiusik third

but the most importants are to come, next saturday the Boels Rental Ronde van Drenthe
Women's World Cup
and 15 days later
the 30th, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda
also World Cup in Italy
Also ther will be several one-day races
In Spain
the Torneo Euskaldun will start the 22nd for cadetes y junior
in Elorrio (Pays Basque) and elites willl join the 29 y 30
