Review of The Yakima Stickup 2 Hitch Bike Rack on a 2012 Toyota Rav4 - Etrailer

Today on our 2012 Toyota Rav4 well be test fitting the Yakima Stickup to hitch mounted
bike carrier, part number Y02420. To mount our carrier to our vehicle well insert the
shank of the carrier into the receive tube of our hitch. Well lineup our hitch pinholes,
thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. Now we want to go over
a couple of clearance measurements. Weve got about 11 of ground clearance and an inch and
half of clearance between the closest of the carrier and the closest part of the vehicle.
Overall weve added about 8 of length to the rear of our vehicle with the carrier folded
up. Next we want to check for rear vehicle access,
well use the pull pin at the base of the rack to fold it down flat. We want to check to
see if we can open our cargo door completely even with the bike rack installed, because
of the wheel cradle we cant open our cargo door very far. Now well put our upright mast
up and prepare to load a bike. We want to extend the frame hook all the way up and undo
the strap at the rear wheel cradle. Well pick up our bike, place it into the cradles and
secure it first by the frame using one of the ratcheting hooks.
