Reddit has an awesome thread going about weird things that get more weird when you think
about it. Such as, the pronunciation of the word colonel. I would trip over my spelling
all the time when I had to write colonel in my papers. It's written so weird and the more
I think about it.. It makes less sense. I guess you can apply that to a lot of names
too. For me, when I think of non-existence, my mind goes all over the place and the concept
gets weirder and weirder. I know most of us can't comprehend it, but it's fascinating
to think wow eventually I will not exist in physical form and I will eventually fade forever.
But to where? Will there be a light? How do things not exist and then become exist? so
many questions ugh. What are things you think about during your free time that seem to have
no bottom?
I think the concept of heaven came from the fact that most people struggle with the concept
of non-existence. I know I do, but I also believe in ghosts, spirits, and some sort
of afterlife, but if that was the case, there have been so many billions and trillions of
people that have existed so isn't the afterlife crowded? I'm too claustrophobic for that.
So maybe that's why there's resurrection, but then how is the population growing and
we're not running out of souls? And how do some stay and some go? OK, see, I could go
on forever. I also have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that space has an
end, but at the same time is ever-expanding. Oh no, I've gone cross-eyed. quick, name the
reference, go!
I believe that reference is Austin Powers. Well done on the reference. But also the whole
thing about Heaven, like let's say there's a heaven. People get saved and go up there.
Does someone from 2013 get to talk to someone who died in 1547? How does that work? Do people
stay in their own zones? If you ascend to heaven, how do you look like up there? Do
you look like when you died or when you were 20, 34? What do you look like? In heaven,
is it the time you died or your prime stage? Imagine everyone is on their prime stage.
Imagine seeing your grandparents in their 30s when you only knew them in their 60s,
how would you recognize them? also how would you search people in heaven? I imagine it's
infinite you would look for people or is it American Dad concept where everyone has their
own personal heaven? I dont get how heaven works. I think it was the old David Cross
playing Xbox on his cloud and there is an orphan there wanting to play Xbox. But like
could you talk to famous people? Is there a famous people heaven and a normal people
heaven? If there was a heaven and for some reason I got up there I would probably look
for people I enjoy. You know the Bob Dylans of the world. Talk with Benjamin Franklin.
Imagine Thomas Jefferson is not in heaven. And you ask why and they're like well he was
a slave owner and you go you know what? that made a lot sense. Can you go down to Hell
and talk with people? Day trips to hell? I would love to see who's in heaven, who's not.
It would be very surprising. That whole thing about Heaven is such a weird concept. it's
crazy. I wonder how it works. If it does exist, which I dont think it does. But I would like
to be proven wrong on that one.
