'Person' is a 'Thought-Construct'
[Mooji:] At a certain point
thoughts become irrelavent.
When they are irrelavent,
the Self fully reveals itself in this moment.
Arunachala Satsang with Mooji
For, for thousands and thousands of years
beings have been
coming to the foot of this mountain,
asking these questions
- satsang has been occurring here -
beings who are drawn towards this question:
Where did I come from, who really am I?
Before, essentially, they were all from this continent.
Now they are from every continent in the world, coming here.
Because one Sage
spoke so clearly about it
that this voice could speak to any person from anywhere in the world,
about what this, that dwells within this body,
spoke of its universality.
And all of you have come almost from every nation, to come
because something inside responds to that pointing;
something recognizes, 'yes.'
This which is here,
it's not Indian,
it's not English, it's not German,
it's not anything.
It's earlier than all conditioning;
clearer and purer than any quality.
So, when you come to this place,
somehow - yes -
you feel stirred,
something is stirred.
And you're on fire,
something is on fire.
And you remain in this fire,
like, with folded hands,
and say, 'Burn on! Let's burn.'
Even if you don't understand, mind wants to say,
'Yes, this means... this is about...
we are so far into the cooking.'
But you just let it burn.
Out of this, only peace comes.
When a thought is powerful, in what way is it powerful?
Help me.
When a thought is felt to be powerful -
Often I hear,
'Some thoughts, they're so powerful! They're so powerful!'
What happens in those moments of
power thoughts?
What makes a thought powerful?
Is it not that you believe in it?
Yeah.
All thoughts, in themselves, they are equal in weightlessness,
but belief in them
energizes them; gives them life.
So when a thought is powerful,
it's because it has a lot of belief in it.
And so temporarily, you the Beingness,
is hypnotized
by your own fascination.
It passes, of course.
All thoughts pass.
It is possible
that even in the fiercest pulsation of any thought
or emotion or any activity,
it is recognized that nothing can remove what is,
anytime that [happens].
And in this recognition,
there is only unbroken peace.
You are that
- let's call it like space -
within which actions,
reactions,
interactions,
are playing out, in your presence.
Nothing is effecting you.
You're coming to profound
clarity about this,
that this is actually the true position.
You imagine that, 'I did this and this is happening to me.'
And no one is onto the fact
that these are merely thoughts that gather force
only on belief.
So, it's coming, increasingly
that it's recognized,
that all this is just thought; it's all imagined.
And so, at a certain point,
thoughts become irrelavent.
When they are irrelavent,
the Self fully reveals itself in this moment.
Presently,
some thoughts seem to be deeply relevant,
and those we give service to.
We are chaperoning those thoughts
because you feel that they have significance
for the person you take yourself to be.
So, some have thrown away even the person,
knowing that even the person is a though-construct.
Without any fear, who will throw the person,
the most precious thought?
And so if you don't, if you hold on
- you, the Beingness hold on -
to the personal sense of self,
mind has something to bargain with,
to beat you with.
Because through the person
you grew fear, fear comes:
'Somebody might hurt me.
Some action I take will be detrimental to my existance.'
And so fear comes.
If you don't touch this person
or you see that the person is merely an idea
then this fear cannot live, it cannot grow.
Be willing to let any visitor come.
Like this you can do it:
Let any visitor come.
We have a visitor at the back at the moment.
He's buzzing about.
Quite a few visitors at the back there, buzzing.
Bumblebee - I think it's bumblebees.
So even a bumblebee can come,
cannot remove what is.
Actions and reactions, interaction is taking place.
This body... also, there will be acting out in this body.
It does not mean that you are not who you are, what you are.
There is no condition or criteria for being,
like you have to be still;
you have to not have thoughts.
All of these are themselves thoughts,
appearing in the Being
which is unaffected by thought.
But if the thought is that these thoughts matter
or that no thought should occur,
then this thought will cause trouble.
Let every thought come.
Let any feeling happen.
You're like space;
every activity is taking place in you
but nothing can live as you.
There are only appearances coming.
Enjoy them.
Apparently suffer them.
I say apparently -
even apparently suffer, you will not.
It will not register in the Beingness
that you are suffering.
You are the Self.
The eternal, the real is what we are.
We are the evolving self;
- this is what we appear to be -
changeful, maturing.
And that is also an aspect that must not be dismissed;
it is there, it is part of this play.
It's like you are both, and beyond.
Don't just hear this in your head
because it is easily confirmed inside your heart,
it's like this.
Presently,
some thoughts seem to be deeply relevant,
and those we give service to.
We are chaperoning those thoughts
because you feel that they have significance
for the person you take yourself to be.
So, some have thrown away even the person,
knowing that even the person is a thought-construct.
