Okey doke, so here we are at the Brands Hatch GP circuit. This is Friday testing for us
and as you can see it's quite wet.
So this is kind of the out-lap that we take
We have a fairly slow out-lap, so the out-lap just literally being
a lap we take straight out of the pits. So basically
all you'd be doing is
finding the circuit conditions
and seeing if any has changed since the time you've gone out.
Just once again your looking for your corners
and finding if
anything has changed or anything like that.
The corner we're coming down to now is Graham Hill, and this is quite a cool corner
It tends to drop off just about there
and you tend to just get a little bit of oversteer as you get back on the power
as the circuit drops away
The next corner is very cool, a uphill corner
that you want to try and break into the corner
and just as it starts to level out you can squeeze the power.
Quite a lot of grip here because the all weight is going to the back of the car
so you can get on the power really early there.
Back on go the wipers
because the rain is getting a bit bad, but this is a very quick corner here
we're probably doing about one hundred and ten through the apex in wet weather
in the dry it would almost be one twenty five, one thirty.
Next corner coming up is very, very quick once again, down one gear
get right over the inside curb and back on the power nice and early to help drag us down the hill
and back up the other side towards *** Dell.
*** Dell is another good one, blind apex so you can't see nothing on the other side
until about now. That's where you can see where your going.
Surtees
Try and carry some speed into the cambered corner
run all the way to the outside and you tend to be a little bit sideways on the exit.
Just before we go for our quick lap, we're just clearing the tyres off
getting a little bit more temperature into it
so we can go for our flying lap and try and get a quick lap in.
It's quite slippery on the exit there
just trying to make sure we get the best exit onto the pit straight
we'll get right up to fifth gear, and then we'll go down two gears to third gear
for here in the wet weather
trying to carry
as much speed in as possible and wait for the car to just settle before we get back on to the power.
Making our way back up towards Druids, so we'll go back down towards second gear
and try to carry some speed in here. We will keep off the racing line
because it's very slippery in the wet weather conditions.
A little bit of oversteer on the way out, and we'll go up to third
and then have some nice heavy breaking down one gear
rolling some speed, nice and smooth getting a bit more oversteer on the exit
up to third
and then to fourth gear
and we will go down two gears for this one to try and carry some speed and get the momentum
moving forwards
with the car.
On the power nice and early and let it run to the exit
up to third gear
and literally
just let it relaxing here
take a deep breath stretching our fingers out making sure we are ready
for the next
quick complex of corners, going down one gear carrying some speed
really roll in the speed in on the power
using the full width of the circuit shifting up another gear
down one gear, and roll the speed in
right to the exit again,
all the way out
up another gear and keep the power on all the way up until the latest as we dare
about now, down one gear right over in the inside curb right to the exit and keep the power going
all the way along
nice late break down one gear, using the camber to slow you down.
So just slowed it down a little bit there
as you can see we're heading a little bit into traffic
so we weren't going to get the best of laps, so we are just trying to find the most amount of space
on your qualifying lap or your quick lap is quite crucial there
So we're going to have one final bite at the cherry before we call it a day
and come into the pits and get a change of tires.
And that is an onboard lap of Brands Hatch GP. Thanks for watching.
