Grace: Hi, welcome back to Expert Village. I'm your host, Grace Fraga, and you're watching
arts and crafts and everything fun. And today we're learning all about salvaging your old
photo album with my guest, Sonya Shepherd, from The Crop Circle.
Sonya: Hi. Grace: Hi. So, keep going because you've been
telling us how to salvage all these photos.. Sonya: That's right.
Grace: ...how to take them off the page, and what's next?
Sonya: Well, what's next is really understanding what's going to happen with the rest of your
photos. You've got them out of your old album. Now what's going to happen? Are you going
to be able to put them in another scrapbook? Do you need to make copies of them and divide
them amongst other family members? When you look at heritage scrapbooks, you really have
a lot of decisions to make. But what's really great about digital technology is there are
ways for us to recreate scrapbooks, to scan in our photos, to make color photo copies,
and do a lot of digital scrapbooking as well. It's a great opportunity. This is an example
of a digital scrapbook for a family reunion. We've got the family tree in here. She did
such a really great job. We move on in and there are photos that have been scanned in,
family histories that have been recorded. These are all really, really great ways to
incorporate scrapbooking technology and digital scrapbooking technology.
Grace: How neat. Look at that. Sonya: So you can scan these in. Create color
copies. Print on acid-free paper. Do some binding. And you have a really great way to
replicate your family memories. Grace: That is fantastic. I love that.
Sonya: A lot of computer software also have Photoshop elements on there, different things
that you can do to retouch your photos and restore them.
Grace: Fantastic. Thank you. And so, what do we need to learn next?
Sonya: Next, we're going to learn about storing your photos and safe scrapbooking.
Grace: Great. That's coming up next.
