Alright. There we go. Hello, everyone. I'm Figment the Dragon and I'm here to tell you
about something that's very near and dear to my heart: It's called democracy. Well,
namely why democracy is ***. Let me start off by saying I'm no authoritarian. I am a
libertarian dragon. Libertarian with an L for liberty. If you don't know what that is
go look it up on the internet. I haven't time for your stupid questions. You're sitting
on an infinite source -- near infinite source of information so don't be lazy. Thank you.
Now to sort of put you in the mindset of my issue with democracy, imagine this: let's
say you are the only individual in your country that believes that you have the individual
right to life and liberty within your own country. So everyone else who lives there
shows *up*, kicks in your windows, drags you out kicking and screaming, and beats you to
death in the street with a shovel. Now this is an act of pure direct democracy. Everyone
else agreed. You didn't agree. You were in the minority. It didn't matter what you thought
so they went ahead and did what they wanted.
Now I guess the big myth that people seem to believe about democracy is that it promotes
self sovereignty. It really doesn't. Self sovereignty is what you have without government.
You can go down to the store, buy your beer or your wine or what ever spirits you want
or no spirits at all if you wish, you might just buy bread or whatever else that they
sell that they're willing to sell you. You know; mutual exchange between members of a
free market. You get it. But government is when they tell you what to do. They'll tell
you "Buy beer or don't buy beer" and if you do you'll be jailed; you'll be fined; or you'll
be killed. Those are the options. That's because government is force by nature.
Now a big problem that sort of makes government by the mob - you know. The masses, I mean.
The mob. Not like the mafia - worse than government by a king is that when you're in a room and
you're the deep minority opinion - Or your the deep... you're the major majority opinion.
How often do you find yourself questioning the logic behind what you're thinking? Behind
your positions? As often as when you stand alone? See? 'Cause a king would always stand
alone.
The other thing about a king is that even if you have a tyrannical king it only really
would take one bomb or bullet to no longer have a tyrannical king. Whereas if you were
surrounded by a population of people who just don't like you you're *** out of luck.
Something to think about. Figment out.
