>> Jeff James: [Background Music] It was time again for Dartmouth to put a stake in the ground
about the importance of the arts at a place like Dartmouth,
and it already had enough critical mass of very good news in the arts to begin building
that idea around, especially, with the opening of the visual arts center,
which was arguably Dartmouth's biggest play in the arts in decades.

>> Emmanuel Tecuatl: [Background Music] A Tesla event they put together like for six and science
with like the arts and that was really interesting.
>> Gabe Rosenstein: A rapper came and played our organization, Friday Night Rock.
>> Callista Womick: I liked the opportunity
for the whole community to come together and make art.
>> Paul Finkelstein: I've really seen people this year reach out to their friends
in really unique ways to get them to come to their concerts, to come to their recitals.

>> Michael Casey: [Background Music] We already felt that Dartmouth had huge strengths
in the arts, but we didn't think the world knew that, so we wanted U of the Arts to be
to a great extent about let's have the world understand this better.
And one way that we, I think, did that effectively was to bring all of the arts events
that were happening across the campus and throughout the year into a single website,
a single events site that just allowed one to do a one-stop view of everything that's going on.

[Background Music] And so we're finding new ways
to have a more porous relationship with the community via the arts.
There were a lot of relationships that seemed to have started during the Year of the Arts
that are going to have real lasting power.

[Background Music] One of the things that we've seen this year is that there's a lot
of the arts everyday [laughter] across, so arts every year -- sure.
Arts every day, definitely, too, but arts everywhere, as well.
>> Jimmy Ragan: [Street sounds] If you want to get involved in the arts here,
I think it's really, really easy and accessible and so far it's yielded nothing
but really great experiences for me.
You know, it's so rare that you have people who are, you know,
just willing to give you this experience, so Dartmouth's saying, you know,
here's a chance to take it, and I'm taking it.
