Hello, I'm Statia Widak and I'm from Plainville, Massachusetts and I love collecting glass.
It is my hobby. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. I'd like to show you how I do some
of my wrapping. Since I'm doing a piece of china, this is Lennox it's the amethyst pattern
it's got a lot of silver around the edges. In order to preserve it so it doesn't become
scratched, what I do, I first wrap it in nice white paper because I don't the newsprint
to get involved with marking it up. But to be conservative I will take a sheet of newspaper
and what I do, I wrap it in newspaper it gives it cushion so there's no chance of this piece
of china being broken. And when I do this I know that when I take it out of the wrapping
that it's been protected. And then after the box, I have a special place where I can store.
This is a cardboard box so you cannot put loads of weight on it. You can probably have
three or four boxes that's about it otherwise it's too heavy and it could crush your china.
That's my way of keeping these things always looking good and the gold looks wonderful
and I don't put it in the dishwasher, the china is never put in the dishwasher.
