Hello ! My name is Joki. I am studen here. I have been in Finland for a while. And now I can say that:
This is a very lovely country, but.... very cold !!:)
As opposed to the all cold and unfriendly look, Finns are actually very warm hearted people
and particularly if you speak the language. :)
If you come to Finland and whether you're temporarily living here or you have an intention
for staying in Finland for a long time. Studying Finnish is always very good point to start,
even though, almost Finns can speak English.
A handy quick fact when you are in a conversation with Finns is that: they are not really talkative people. From many other cultures, this can
be interpreted for being shy, lack of interest or even social skills.
However, this not seem to be the case !:)
Finns often listen while letting others talk and wait for their turn to say something relevant to the discussion.
Remember!! Sometimes, silence can be Golden !! :)
Roughly calculated in 2012, the population of Finland is about 5.5 millions people, with
about 16 people per km2. It means that Finns are used to having a lot of space and privacy.
So it's highly recommended that you should give space with people wherever you go, bus
stop, train station, food store as long as it's still possible. So that you won't be
creating discomfort for invading someone's space.
Sure !! we all know how to dump the trash to the trash bin. However, how to correctly
categorise them to the proper place might be confusing or even demotivating for one! :)
In fact, this is very easy and straightforward to do.
At the end of the week, with all stress and pressure.
What else could be better than going to Fish in an open fresh air and enjoying the nature! :)
Perhaps... just grab a book and have a cup of hot tea. For me, this is purely:
The BEAUTY OF FINLAND ! :x
