Business Source Premier: Finding Company Information.
You can access Business Source Premier from the Lister Hill Library homepage. Click on Databases on the green bar.
Click B on the A to Z list.
And then click Business Source Premier on the left.
If you're off-campus, you'll be prompted to enter your BlazerID and password.
If you're looking for basic information on a company, click Company Profiles on the right or at the top.
We'll look for Pfizer.
For an abstract of the company report you can click on the link here.
Or if you know you want the full report on the company, you can click this direct link to the PDF report. Let's click the link on the left to view
the abstract first.
This screen gives you a basic overview of the company, including information like number of employees, key financials, and products and
services. It also tells us what NAICS code the company falls under which can be helpful if you do further research on the industry as a whole.
Under Related Information, you can find other types of information about the company such as articles in newspapers and magazines, industry
profiles, and market research reports.
You can print and email this report by using the links to the right.
To view the full PDF report from this page, click on MarketLine Report in the top left.
Depending on your browser, you may be able to see the report's table of contents on the left.
If you don't see this, scroll down just a bit and you'll be able to see the table of contents.
From here you can click to go directly to the specific section you're interested in. Let's click on SWOT Analysis.
You can use the buttons in the PDF viewer to save, print, or email the report.
Another way to find information about a company is to enter the company name into the search blank on the main search page.
Then select Company Entity.
This time we have over 5,000 results. From this results page you can quickly focus on the specific type of information you're most
interested in. If you want a SWOT analysis, you can expand the list of Source Types on the left.
You may need to click Show More.
Check the box next to SWOT Analyses. Click Update.
You'll then see only SWOT analyses for the company.
Notice that this list includes not current SWOT analyses as well as older analyses. This differs from the Company Profile
look-up we did earlier where we only saw the most recent report.
If you wish to see academic journal articles about a company, you can use the Source Types options again.
Click Show More.
Uncheck SWOT Analyses and check Academic Journals. Click Update.
You can use the limit options on the left to narrow your search in other ways.
You can access the complete articles by clicking the PDF Full Text links, when available.
For results without PDF links, you can click the UAB Article Linker button.
This button will tell you whether the library has access to the complete article from another full text source.
Click a Get Article link, if available, to proceed to the full text.
To save, email, or export a group of results, you'll first need to click Add to Folder under each article.
Click the Folder icon at the top.
Then you'll see your options for emailing, saving, and exporting on the right.
