The new student recreation center will be located on Lee Street
along the west end of Spartan Village
It will feature the concepts of Universal Design,
usable to the greatest extent possible by everyone, regardless of age, ability, or status in life.
The new facility will provide more than double the space of the current student recreation center,
making it proportionally sized for UNCG's current population.
The new student recreation center will include: multi-court gymnasium space,
multiple group exercise rooms, a climbing wall, cardio and weight space,
passive recreation and gaming space,
gender-neutral restrooms and dressing rooms,
a natatorium, on-site parking, bicycle racks,
opportunities for additional and enhanced student programs,
and seminar/conference rooms.
In addition, the new center provides flexible space that could be used to host
large campus events such as dances, concerts, career fairs, and more.
Hi, I'm Jill Beville, Director of Campus Recreation,
and I am so excited about the new student recreation facility.
We're excited about the opportunities it will mean for our students
to further enhance their out-of-classroom experience
and quality of life here at UNCG.
I look forward to seeing you at the new facility in the fall of 2016.
