Im Going to try an experiment today, something I've never tried before
I've got two old rubber grommets that I was going to throw away - from the bottom of the motorbike tank
They have gone hard and brittle
I thought is there anything I can do with old rubber
Can I see if I can restore it in any way
So I have heard of this before but have never tried it
So I'll see if it works, now is the ideal time to try
What it is, I've got a little tray, I,ll put the tray there
Then I,ll drop the grommets i there
Then I've got some brake fluid, Just some normal Dot4 brake fluid
Its an old tin, I dare not use it as brake fluid
So I thought now is the ideal time to try this
so here we go, just tip it in there
and pour the brake fluid over them like that
and then just leave them, I don't know for how long
Like I said i,ve never tried this before
so I was gonna leave in there, I think I will just leave them in overnight
and see what they look like in the morning if there's anything left
Its will be interesting but we will see
We will see if it touches them or has made no difference at all
but it's supposed to work, like I said I have never tried it before
so I will give my honest opinion as to whether it makes any difference at all
and whether it's possible to restore rubber using this technique
so I will leave it overnight and see what has happened in the morning.
