By episode 10 I felt exhausted for the poor sister. She couldn't even find a safe place to sleep, and I loved the intensity of her character Emily. Wondering if Season 2 will dive deeper into exactly what happened during the 6 years, maybe she was conditioned to kill some of those people? The final scene of the drowning was intriguing and you wonder if the "new" Emily did successfully fulfill Dr. Shen's theory about becoming a killing machine since her profile was what he was originally seeking. It didn't work on Logan because she had a completely different personality type. It would also be interesting to see more flashbacks of what Emily was like as an adult before the abduction. The child version of her wasn't very flattering - did some of that behavior translate into adulthood? Logan / Laurie - what was she REALLY doing in Emily's hospital room when Emily stabbed her? That was super creepy!!! Not sure if we're supposed to hate Alice and Nick, but I hate Alice and Nick. How long have Alice / Nick been together? Seems like long enough where she has bonded with EMILY's son Flynn, but not THAT long of a time period. (3-4 years?) It's great that Alice has been a replacement mom to the boy, but now that she knows his biological mother is alive - felt she needed to respect that more. The story line didn't explain this, but I'd like to know if Alice has legally adopted Flynn. If she did, her attitude would make more sense. But seriously lady - give Emily a chance to bond with the kid, too. Emily didn't abandon the family, she was abducted. Alice / Nick appear to have significant communication issues in the relationship, and that was rather annoying. Just talking more about what was happening could have avoided a lot of the situations in the plot. But I was very bothered by the way both of them treated Emily. On to Nick... He was my least favorite character by far. The best scene is definitely the one where Emily's father calls Nick out on how quickly he moved onto Alice. I've been married for several years and if I disappeared, I KNOW 100% that my husband would NEVER stop looking for me. This dude's an FBI agent and it sounded like he gave up after a year??? WTF man? Your whole career is solving crimes! If what Emily's dad said was correct, did he start seeing Alice a year after Emily went missing or was that when he just stopped searching for her? Not sure what the waiting period should be for that sort of thing, but I have to question his job competency if he isn't all consumed into tracking down his OWN WIFE! I mean, look at the Kate Beckett character and how focused she was on finding her mother's killer. (Or Adrian Monk and his wife who was murdered by a car bomb! Hell, even Richard Castle seemed more invested into helping Beckett with her mom's case!) Nick didn't even find his 2nd wife and son - Emily did and called to share the information. Clearly, she is a far superior FBI agent, and the lady is severely traumatized by 6 years in captivity. To me, that was the biggest issue with 'Absentia' - Nick's character seems out of whack with what a real human being would do.
