I am Hazal Yılmaz. I've been writing hazalyilmaz.com for the last three years.
We started a new project called Çok Gezenler Klubü. We are travelling all around Europe.
I am discovering and writing. That's what it is basicly.
I am a kid of Beyoğlu. I grew up here. I lived here.
We started to go around Galatasaray at the age of ten.
Of course Beyoğlu was not enough, we went down, we got curious of
what is going on with the lives that we do not know.
In that period this place was very... First of all, there were small tradesmen
whom you can still see around... And the ones who still play backgammon...
There were students all over, because of the boats.
Those who said, Beyoglu is so popular now, lets look for new places, started to
hang out here. Close to the sea... Ships passing by...
That kind of alternative life has developed here.
What's important is to find what's best in the place. There is always something good...
In Ops; it's toast.
I think, this is my favourite gallery in Istanbul,
in terms of the artists which they show... And the gallery itself is like an artwork.
That's why even if i've seen the exhibition, i go inside when i pass by,
having the idea that there is absolutely something which i've missed, or haven't seen.
There is great music here. Music that it is inspirational to work. Internet is fast.
You come here and sit for hours, listen good music,
meet randomly with friends and talk to them
and catch life!
I love Karaköy because this place completes all the moods
that i am looking for... Calm, noisy, lonely, friendly...
