Setting Intention-Necklace for Mermaid by Day and Lioness by Night
The poem for the Anatomy of a Shell Collar, written and handmade by Mariel Heart // The
Heart Department. Check it out!
Metal. Every day, I peer into sheets of metal. Every day, life peers back at me with an ache
to escape. With a scribe, I outline it's form.
With a saw, I pierce through to let it exhale it's first breath.
Life held wound up into tight little molecules, now breathes a sigh of freedom.
As I file away the rough spots, you begin to show me your potential.
Sand so sweetly your rough, raw surface. Flip you over and sand your back.
Repetitive motion and counting with the beats to make sure you're even and neat.
Oh, precious metal, may your life dance in the light.
We've gone from fine to finer grits and now you're free of your nasty bits.
Look at you, all smooth and curvy. I give you my heart.
I gave you your shape, but only because you told me what you wished to be.
I now link each of you together. We are stronger together, you know.
The finish is near, yet it's only the completion of the first chapter.
My now polished buddies, whose sanded lines have been brushed away
with fine grit and fast wheels will soon be flaunting the history of their
hand crafted excellence on the body of a warm and loving soul.
I call it Anatomy of a Shell Collar
Understand, dear necklace, that you hold energy that
can transform the mood of a room.
May you radiate love, peace, and light.
May the moon laugh joyously when he sees his reflection in you.
May the sun shower gentle rays upon you for warmth.
May you, dear necklace, be worn by a mermaid by day
and a lioness by night. May she treasure your
shell inspired lines and wave filled design
that rule with fluid dignity and wild style.
So be it.
If you're a mermaid by day and a lioness by night, then I made this necklace for you.
