Interviewer: How does it feel being the star of a Showtime show?
Lizzy: I've been anticipating it coming on TV for so long now. I read
the script 2 years ago, so it feels like maybe for the first
time I'm ready for the public to receive it.
Interviewer: How do you think that [inaudible: 00:18] is going to
reflect today's sex-obsessed culture?
Lizzy: I think that people will realize really quickly that our show
is not about making fun of how uptight people were in the '50s.
I think if anything, you're going to see some serious, and at
times, disturbing parallels to today.
Interviewer: Did you read the book that it's based on?
Lizzy: Yeah, the book's amazing. I highly recommend it.
Interviewer: Tell all of our viewers that.
Lizzy: Yes, read the book.
Interviewer: How does your character change from the beginning,
throughout the series? Describe us in one word [inaudible:
01:05] . . .
Lizzy: In the first season?
Interviewer: . . . love and sex, together.
Lizzy: She sticks to that. She definitely holds onto that, or tries
to. I think as she gets taken more seriously, she just gets
legitimized.
