To create a unit in Program Builder for the new NSW syllabuses
click ‘new’ in the ‘home’ or ‘units’ area.
Name your unit
Select one or more stages from the drop-down menu.
You can also select which subjects your unit includes.
This is also useful for filtering your created units.
Type in a summary, which will appear
in any scope and sequence the unit may be attached.
Type in the duration of the unit
or use the up and down arrows.
You can include detail such as
the number of hours or lessons per week also.
Work through the rest of the layout
typing in the content of your unit.
Include outcomes automatically in your unit.
Simply click ‘add outcomes’
select the syllabus and stage you need
and the outcomes will be listed for you.
Then, just tick the box beside each individual outcome.
Include syllabus content automatically in your unit.
Suggested content will automatically load
based on the outcomes you have selected
which are summarised at the top right and also listed above the content.
Select by ticking the box beside each individual line of content.
It will also include the learning across the curriculum icons
Australian curriculum codes and any mathematic diagrams or equations.
Select all of the content in that section by clicking ‘select all’.
There is an area you can type in
if you want to add your own text.
Add more rows to continue building your unit.
Export your unit to Word
to review and share with colleagues.
