Welcome to Wildcat country.
It's a great day to be a Wildcat.
Every day's a great day to be a Wildcat!
Nancy Kinner's absolutely great.
She gets these freshmen going.
She gives us that charge of energy that we really need to
kick off the event.
The Cat Pack is basically the overarching spirit
squad here at UNH.
UNH!
UNH!
UNH!
Today we're teaching this new class of Wildcats some chants
that we normally do at hockey games, and any
other sporting event.
Go blue, go white!
Go blue, go white!
Go blue, go white!
Go blue, go white!
And we're also going to do my personal favorite.
It's called I believe in UNH.
Which really exemplifies the sense of camaraderie and
family that you have here at UNH.
It brings everyone together, just makes them feel included.
I!
I!
I believe!
I believe!
I believe in U!
I believe in U!
I believe in UNH!
I believe in UNH!
I believe in UNH!
I believe in UNH!
I believe in UNH!
When you're in that crowd, and that crowd's cheering, that
moment, that's what I live for.
You get that sense of-- it's that positive, exuberant
energy that's coming out of you, coming
out of everyone there.
You're taking part in something that's just bigger
than your everyday experiences, and
you can feel that.
And that's, like, it just keeps you going.
I believe in UNH!
I believe in UNH!
You feel it in your heart, really, and it's a sense of
belonging that you really can't get anywhere else.
Three quick claps at the whistle!
[WHISTLING AND CLAPPING]
Unbelievable.
Best group ever.
Coach Mac, classic football coach.
The reason UNH is so great is because of what's happening in
this room right today.
The people that you're with, people that are sitting in
this room are the people that maybe four, five years from
now start being your business partners.
Seven, eight years from now could be at
your wedding party.
10 or 12 years from now could be the person you need the
most at the time you need them the most.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
And I just feed off of the energy, and I just love people
being passionate about our school together, and just
having it be one big community.
Because if we're all loving our school, then we can all
just relate to each other so much better.
It's definitely an experience, that's for sure.
It's UNH, that's what it is.
Yeah.
The chants were fun.
Yeah, the chants.
Football coach was cool.
It was amazing.
I loved it.
It was so exciting.
Definitely was.
Excited to be a Wildcat.
Yeah.
Definitely getting motivated for the year.
Yeah.
This right here, this is tradition at its finest.
We have our freshman class coming down.
They're learning one of our greatest
traditions, pat the cat.
Whatever you're going to do, whether it's going to a big
hockey game and you want to will the team to a victory,
you've got a big test coming up next week and you need that
little extra push to get you by.
Or if you're just having maybe an off day, and you need a
little kick to get you started.
You come over here, you pat this cat, and that's exactly
what it's going to do.
It's going to push you through to accomplish whatever you
need to do.
There's so many little pieces of this university that can
come together at these events and welcome these incoming
freshman classes, and show them how special Wildcat
country is.
