Welcome to Festivalzombie.com I'm sitting here with members of the bands Schwund from Hamburg and Bulldriver from Dithmarschen and today we are going to talk about the general tone our movie is goint to have guys, are you more into fun slatter or serious stuff? well, regarding festivals, I'd say fun splatter because there are many funny things you can do stuff with yeah - in my opinion - fun splatter in the likes of what? something like zombieland. its funny but still a little serious. something like that yeah, it's got humoristic elements but also serious tones with Tallahassee or what his name was - yeah exactly *** Harrelson's character deep emoitional scars its no pure comedy like evil dead 2 for instance But the serious shouldn't have too much influence should be a good mx - like, 1/3 to 2/3... do you actually want serious stuff in it then or should we go full blown humor because if we... I mean zombieland did a really great job of combining both you got funny scenes because they are funny characters And this emotional, serious layer that didn't seem forced or shoehorned in so when we make a festival zombie movie if you really try to force something serious into it or some kind of romance or story then it just seems forced. you can have some story, doesn't have to be much... a romance is always good Starship troopers... that was more like a spoof of soap operas in every funny movie is always a love story in every one? - No, man! Almost every one. - No, man! Loser you can bring across the serious stuff by not directly showing brutal scenes but by implying them you can see in the background whats happening for instance... An Iron! who doesn't bring one along to a festival? When the zombie comes, it's hot and you want to push it in it's eye... Or you don't hit the zombie, but... If we can manage to make an iron attack on a zombie seem serious or emotionally touching No, it would be funny if we - we will get an oscar. It would be funny if I push it in his face but if you don't see it, its more serious Yeah okay, you mean that more subtle horror in like... in the first texas chainsaw massacre you don't actually see that much splatter that would be more serious, because the funny scenes would drop out but you have to be carefull with stuff like that, since it might quickly feel cheap if you overdo it - like willing to do it, but not being capable to do so exactly, if you overdo it... like if you show a scene like that every two minutes in hope to finally see something, but you don't something like in Wrong Turn where the siblings are under the table in the house of those ...things I think and those things pull in their friend, dismember her You don't see that, you see them under the table and her friends blood flows slowly towards them it's that more subtle horror where you don't see what happens and most of it happens in your mind good that's what you prefer. not this full blown in your face splatter stuff on the contrary, it's great, but it's usefull to include the other stuff as well because both together are kind of rare good those are some styles that can be used I talking about the general tone of the movie i also gravitate more to humoristic splatter comedy I think we will have to see... the peole are supposed to send us their ideas And also send us your opinions would you say: humor, splatter comedy or something serious like... whats it called... paranormal activity it's more like... we won't do found footage! No way! But that's more serious horror Also... what was it called... with this red demon... Insidious exactly! he knew right away which one I meant. Spoiler! I just said there's a demon in it that one was good - something like that I gravitate more towards humor, but like I said, send us your ideas and opinions we are really looking forward to that maybe they could tell what funny stuff happened to them when they were on a festival? there might be stories you can make one or to things out of we are still talking abut the general tone of the movie, the general mood If you got ideas for that, send them to us if you have funny stories, send them as well. we always like to read those we will keep them secret... can you think of any example movies for some styles, since there hasn't been a horrorfilm on a festival yet what movies can you think of? we have huge amounts of potential zombies, or possessed, demons and so on and also a lot of interesting characters behind the scenes that could function as protagonists Braindead Yeah, thats slapstick slatter comedy - no, that was serious in it are very many... the final scene packs the biggest punch, what would fit because it's no house... ...but tents but it's no huge masses we are dealing with thousands of beasts, zombie on a festival dawn of the dead, there are lots of them. but we'd have to clarify, whether it's old Zombies or new Zombies? can they run fast or not, can they make a pyramide or not - that's an impotant point in zombie movies. Are they fast or not? yeah, or if they are zombies at all, maybe they are possessed, by a demon or something Zombies! because if you strike their head with your hand it falls off with possessed you rally have to go out of your way yeah but we can determine what kind of possessed they are - a mix of both! where the head grows feet und walks on... no thats why you have to chop them into really really really small pieces you have to distinguish - definately between fast and slow. zombie1, zombie2, dawn of the dead - a slow, unstoppable, doughy mass - guys this goes out to you again what kind of zombies do you want? Do you want zombies at all? do you prefer possessed, demons? send us your opinions what you say? zombie, dawn of the dead, all three parts, in the first one they are slow, in the third they go berserk, even have weapons. yeah, we'll see. Anyway! As final point we can say: tending towars comedy that's what you prefer I think that's the better idea as well the internet may give it's opinion on that, pretty please then we'll see what the people think of the whole thing and we will talk about that next time till next time
