The 'Travel Zoom' cameras from Panasonic are quite popular
They are famous for their image quality, so it's no suprise Panasonic introduces a new one
This is the Panasonic TZ40. Most important features are: newer, better, prettier, sharper
Before we talk about specs, lets have a look at the design This TZ40 is a lot more compact than its predecessors
It looks more streamlined, with round corners and it weighs a little less, which is always nice
The camera is fitted with a 18 megapixel sensor and had 20x optical zoom, which is quite a bit
It has a better display with over 920.000 pixels which looks really, really sharp
Most special feature is NFC, Near Field Communication which you may know from your smartphone
Tap the camera to the smartphone, and it sends the pictures to the device. Might come in handy
It has wifi and off course this travelcamera is equipped with GPS
This should work better than befor due to the addition of a Russian sattelite system
Nice addition is the Travel Maps. Usually youcan see where you took your pictures, but not in what order
This camera maps the route of your pictures from day to day
The battery is improved, it should last 300 photos
You can take the pictures on manual-mode and there are two buttons for your own custom presets
And you can use the panaroma-mode, which is pretty cool because youcan add creative filters
The device can record video in Full HD 50p the recommended retailprice is not announced yet
Not when we're recording this video anyway, but here it is at the bottom of the screen
But you can count on a price somewhere between 300 or 400 euro
Quite a bit, but it seems as if that money does give you a proper camera
