Hi, I'm Rebecca Guenther, with www.M5A1photography.com, and I'm here to tell you about some famous
fashion photographers. Now, of course it's difficult to say who's famous, who's not,
and also what a short list I'm going to have to do, but let's start with probably the most
notable famous fashion photographer, Richard Avedon. He was an amazing photographer, and
he was probably best known in my generation for his 1990 ads for Calvin Klein, featuring
Kate Moss and the whole heroine chic revolution. He shot very beautiful black and whites for
this campaign, and to this day it remains probably the signature look for the whole
Calvin Klein line. Now, if you're a famous fashion photographer you do get to do that;
you get to help define what a clothing line is and what their look is. You can also look
at Annie Leibowitz. She is also an amazing photographer, has shot for Vanity Fair and
Vogue, and usually does really beautiful, extravagant shots. David LaChapelle is another
fashion photographer who does a little bit more out there, a little bit strange. His
images are always very bright, very colorful, very fantasy driven. You can also look at
Irving Penn, Robert Mapplethorpe, Sarah Moon, and Cecil Beaton if you want to go back to
the past and deal with probably one of the first fashion photographers. And those are
just a few fashion photographers.
