Hi my name is Viginia Willcock, I'm the chief wine maker here at Vasse Felix.
Margaret River is the most exceptional grape growing region that I know of.
There is no industry, we're a beautiful isolated area. The natural beautys phenomenal but it also comes down to this beautiful gravelly dirt that we are standing on.
My first visit out here to Margaret River was back in the 1980s, at that time there were like ten wineries at most.
In the great Margaret River wine you have this competition between ripen fruits, freshness and structure.
Magaret River is really well know for more than one grape variety but we believe that we are specialists in Cabernet and Chardonnay that they are the most exceptional two grape varieties that we grow out of this region.
We make a style of wine that has elegance and finesse but significant power of fruit and concentration that I don't beleive is like any other wine region in Australia.
This is a great wine region not just of Australia but of the wine growing world. They like to make wines that are enjoyable not just to taste but to drink at the dining table and I just have such a great time when I am here.
